Budget 2022, from Nov 21 to April 2022
The PTPTN officers are aware of it as I called them on 1st November.
Had placed money in my dormant direct debit account which they deducted few hours later. Moment of truth when it is reflected in the statement hmm.gif

NATIONAL Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) borrowers who are already making repayments through salary deductions or direct debits are also eligible for the 10% discount given in Budget 2022.

In a statement on Oct 30, PTPTN said these borrowers, together with new ones who also register for repayment via the two methods, would enjoy the discount for their payments between Nov 1 and April 30.
..................
...................
“The discount incentive will be updated in the borrowers’ loan accounts at the end of each month and the borrowers can view their statements from the 7th of the following month,” it added.

I already made payment through direct debit fee years ago,
My monthly payback amount is 280... so this one discount for 6 months means I will get discount 280 x6 x 10%= 168?
Is it correct?

If discount only 6 months then not worth for the new payers... gained few hundred but need pay monthly..
Unless can cancel direct debit after 6 months..? Haha

However of course it is the borrower obligation to pay back what they borrowed

pure speculation on my side,...
i think it is the intention of the Govt to "entice" the new borrower to start auto debit...
as i think, once they are on Auto debit,...the chances is rare to go back to normal....but again, from time to time, the Govt also try to encourage continuation of auto debit practices by giving 10% off for 6 months.

Just to share an update, the direct debit for this month has been reflected in my detailed statement but 10% discount is not reflected so I called PTPTN.
The officer said the 10% rebate will only be reflected at the end of the month after penyelarasan

Hmm should i way till the end of the month or perhaps check with him again over the counter?

chatted with PTPTN live chat, it seems the 10% rebate is for 6 months (Nov 2021 until April 2022) ONLY, meaning May 2022 direct debit will not entitle for 10% rebate.

Hi guys, I wanted to ask. I took PTPTN loan for my diploma in 2016 and degree 2018. I finished my studies in late January this year but the convocation is in February 2022, I went through the FAQ on their website and it says that there is a 12 month grace period. Does that mean my grace period already started in January when I finished studying or will the grace period start after I go through convocation?

the clock start ticking as soon as your finished the study. Late January 2021, you shall have your cert after you complete the studies kan..
why does your convocation delayed by one year ?

I assumed it was due to the pandemic, they never really said anything about it either. Up till now I still can't get my academic transcript and certificate.

This is an interesting event. the University/College hold up your academic transcript and certificate despite completing the course.
i think best for you to check with your University/College on the completion date for the course or applies for early certificate application
