Settled my loan back in Nov 2016... but last week I received an sms saying that I still have overpaid & they will return some amount to me. The amount isn't disclosed.

Took them that long eh?

Is like that. At least they honest. Refund you the money.

Mine also took 2-3 years after full settlement. It was a surprise for me.

For PTPTN, the repayment needs to be cleared by when in order not to scar CCRIS?

Ujrah charge appears on e-statement today but dated March 1st.

If Insurance charge didn't clear, will that affect CCRIS too?

hi guys im quite new here. i just wanted to ask . i applied for full amount for my degree, which was 46k. and after second year i unofficially deferred my studies. for a year. and i didnt receive any ptptn money for the remaining sems . when i started my studies back a year later i was sorta able to pay the fees myself. so this was all back in 2013 i think or 2014 i might be wrong. so in my mind i thought i was only required to pay back the first sem money of ptptn. i know it was silly of me to not double check and make sure but den i received email asking me to payback full amount. i went to ptptn office and ask they said i received full amount. is there any hope for me to prove i didnt receive full amount or how to i show them i didnt ? any help would be greatly appreciated console.gif

Hello guys...
Last year November I was actually planning to settle my PTPTN by paying full to earn the 20% discount....It would save around RM 8k.
...To have the lumpsum to settle full payment, my father was willing to borrow me the money, but he requested me to calculate is it really worth to earn this 20% discount?

However base on my calculation, it is not worth to settle in one time although there is 20% discount.... if say I put the lumpsum money in investment (regardless bank, or UT or others) and pay monthly with 10% discount by using auto-debit....and with 5~6% dividend annually, few years later I could earn more....

Thus I stopped and changed my decision to settle the full payment....
Instead, I am going to go to PTPTN office this week and apply for auto-debit.

Would like to know is this a good move? Appreciate for advice...
TQ.

rclxm9.gif if u are prudent in not using the savings.
auto debit is the best way, you can easily beat 20% with 10% discount + investment returns over 15 years thumbup.gif

I was thinking about this too. Does it worth to lump sum to get 20% or do a 10% auto debit.
Currently have RM16k debt which can help me to save around RM3.2k only in 20 years.
But if I use this RM16k to throw into only FD @ 4% @ 20 years, I may had earn much more than double of RM16k.

Anyone have other opinion?

I haven't started to pay, but 10% discount for 15 years a 1% is the best

i really appreciate the reply because im at a total lost. knowing money grabbing greedy college , they will definitely say that they already banked in everything to me and its been too long already and there are no records of such. which is really depressing. i just dont wan to end up repaying something i didnt get for in the first place. i would be happy to pay back the 20 k ish i got from ptptn. i was just thinking the only way of proving it is getting my bank statement from years ago and showing it to them that no money was credited into my account. what do u think? im quite desperate at the moment sad.gif

It's better that you get a record of financial statement from your college/university to support your case in addition to your bank statement.

I used to have 6k outstanding, hv been paying more every month for a year and reduce to 4k now. I'm thinking if i should use a CC to settle the outstanding 4k and get a 0% balance transfer instead. Anyone did that before? is it doable/advisable?
