That's right. There are currently two ways to get the full updated map. This is because the unlock codes are specific to your device's GPS ID as reported by Garmin Mobile XT.

(1) contribute 2 PoIs and submit according to their rules

(2) pay someone to send you the unlock codes, hahaha!
