Thakn you for the replied. ANyway, is this mean , everytime when it re-located or user move away from the point it started, then it will send a 8KB data to the server and we will be charge for it? This mean, if we turn it on for locating a 10KM distance from the start point, we will be charge, for examaple, A-GPS will send a signal out at every 100m, means that will be 100 times signal send out? If every signal send is 8KB, that means it will be 8MB data sent?  blink.gif  wow...that is alot of charges apply to our phone bill then.. please do correct me if I m wrong?

Thank you.

nope...accordin to my understanding, AGPS only send approximately 8kb in da initial locking so tt da time required to lock ur position could be reduced n locked fast...later that, as long as u r connected or locked, it wouldn't send any data.....

correct it if i'm wrong too

thanks

What do you mean by this "Meaning from KL to your home, if you loose fix for 10 times, A-GPS is 10x.

I have tried and check, for each time A-GPS i am charged 6-8 sens. thats alot if x10.
" Is this mean, everytime you switch satelite, you will be charge? or each time if you turn it back on, and you will received charges?

Confuse here.. So sorry for the question.

usually if u get a lock to numbers of satelites, it wont drop out easily, unless da weather is terrible or u r nearby lots of tall building, but mostly once u get a lock u will stay on it....furthermore, normally people use AGPS to get an initial lock or wat ppl called as cold start...tt means da very first time u try to get a lock using ur device bcos usually da first lock require a longer time to get a lock....after da initial lock, da time required to get da next lock would be reduced, so by tt time, if u afraid of network charges u could jz disable AGPS from da menu, n u could still use da GPS function....

actually A-GPS is to send a bit of network coverage to help us to get a lock faster....however if u r in an open environment u could disable A-GPS anytime if u afraid it would charge ur bill...if u r not in a hurry, u could just disable A-GPS.....just my 2 cents

yeap it still work...don worry...as i mentioned earlier, AGPS fucntion is to help u to get a faster lock to da satelite..so if u disable it u still could use GPS....

Hi Guys,

I managed to get the GPRS/3G setting done with Maxis.  Anyway, my GPS is slow in locking the satallite.  Do any of you have any issues?  Sometimes, 10 mins also still trying to lock the satallite.

Thanks,
Tom

is tt u initial attempt to get a lock after u get a phone? da time during initial first lock would be a bit longer....try to get ur gps lock in an open environment n not in ur hse.....n also remember to enable A-GPS function as it would help to reduced da locking time (network charged)....

I just chipped mine, few minutes ago, drop at the side of my car seat, the recaro seat base has a protuding metal part for the base and the phone just drop and had a direct hit, painful just seeing the "titanium" coating chip off and show a black base. Anyone want to sand their casing into a black N82?  doh.gif

sad to hear it...try to rest ur phone on a car holder or put it in a pouch so tt it wont be prone to damage tt easily...nevertheless, it is still an expensive toys to be damaged so soon...
