I believe most of us will be getting our annual bonus soon, so what do you plan to buy?  rolleyes.gif

Personally I would like to pour the money into high dividend yield counters, I have some in mind, but still haven't decide on which counter to buy.

My personal favourite are MAYBULK & BJTOTO, which one do you think is worth to buy & keep? (for atleast a year or so)
*
If you bought both at this date :

MAYBULK (2007-2014) : -44.84%

BJTOTO (2007-2014) : +12%

FD at 3% (2007-2014) : +21%

Better than putting it in FD? smile.gif

hi, is your 12% return for bjtoto already factory in the dividends and share splits
bjtoto payout for div per year
2007 -32sen
2008 - 25.9sen
2009 - 25.21sen
2010 - 20sen
2011 - 25sen
2012 - 27sen
2013 - 22sen
2014 - 22sen
*
Calculation (price adjusted for splits) :

Price at Dec 28 was 4.46.
Price at Nov 21 was 3.50.

Total loss (price only) = 4.46-3.50 = 0.96

End of 2007 there was only one div for 0.0714 (Ex date 26/12, he bought 24/12 so won't be in time for T+3, so no divs for 2007.)

for 2008-2014 = 25.9+25.21+20+14+27+22+22 = 1.5611

Total gain = 1.56-0.96 = 0.60 per share.

Total percentage gain = 0.60/4.46 = 13.45%

So percent gain per year = 13.45/6 = 2.24% per year

Compared with 3% a year for FD, still a loss smile.gif

If you invested Rm9,812 at that date :

2200 shares at 4.46 = Rm9,812

2200 shares at 3.50 = Rm7,700

Total capital loss = Rm2,112

Add brokerage costs = Rm2,112 + 43.26 = Rm2,154.26

Total dividends = 2200 x 1.5611 = Rm3,434.42

Total gain = 3,434.42 - 2,154.26 = Rm1280.16

If you deposited Rm9,812 in FD at 3% p.a :

Rm9,812 Compounded Annually at 3% for 6 years = RM11,716.04

Total gain = RM11,716.04 - RM9,812 = Rm1,904.04

Total difference = Rm1904.04 - 1280.16 = 623.88

As of now, I have not invested any in AMWAY as I am still considering if I should invest in these dividend stocks.

Amway is up about 80% from 2007 smile.gif
