FD can reach 4% p.a. guaranteed.

so far how did your strategy of buying for dividend work out for you?

btw, how do you time your entry and exit with dividend play?

and how do you justify the price fluctuations and time and effort spend are they justified so far?

appreciate comments.

anyone care to give an example how you filter for dividend play and take actions? for example, do you use klsescreener.com to screen for high yield stocks, then wait to buy on CD date, and sell on XD? or you wait for news? how does all these dividend game really played?

Investor who bought BJTOTO last year this time has loss 5% in capital as illustrated http://screenshooter.net/100256214/usmljky

If put in FD for 4% p.a., would it better than this DY 7% - 5% capital loss?

Am i missing something?

what do you make of this?

Friday, 19 Sep 2014

Ever consider earnings report other than just DY?

Mind to disclose DY too?

all should be above 6%, why not try work it out DY very easy to calculate, i am sure many here would assist you if you need clarification.

but don't treat it like an fixed income instrument.

for the purpose of discussion, run through your dividend numbers based on the few given, and tell us whats your top 3 DY counters, we will confirm it later, that's best for learning.

After disposing Maybank, my main dividend counter on Bursa is now Malakof, which I expect to give about 7% yield at current levels.

I have also started to accumulate KLCC, which I expect 5+% yield when times get better.

These are of course no guarantee.

I also still hold one of the Dana infra bond from 2013, which gives me about 4.6% yield govt guaranteed until 2028.

most stocks' volatility in percentage far exceed the dividend yield, you might win the hill but lose the forest if left uncheck, such as KLCC example, people working from home and sell online, many office space and shop lots are empty.

companies with growth use capital for expansions instead of paying div, stagnant companies pay div, most investors sell out on companies with negative growth, but different views are welcome.
