A head-up for those with FD in BR and the like. I don't quite understand the report and hope one with banking/financial knowledge can summarise the problem in 1 or 2 sentences for lay-person like me. Thanks. I now have 80% of my FD in BR. So, need to keep a close eye on this.

Read it twice and I still don't see the problem. Lending too much for personal finance and thus higher NPL (non performing loan) potential? The lenders are mainly govt servants and the NPL issue will only be a problem if the govt is in dire strait financially. So  ...?

I put it here more as an alert for those with FD in BR. Then they can decide whether to continue their deposits there or not, if it is really that risky.

Cheerio.

Ah Pinky,

No-par-value regime to create bonus issues galore
A new law, possibly to be passed this year, that will do away with the par value for shares will see shareholders of listed companies receive a windfall running into the hundreds of billions of ringgit.

It is estimated that the shareholders of the 33 largest listed companies alone may receive at least RM100 bil in the form of bonus shares or dividends. The RM100 bil is tabulated by taking into account the current share premium of the top 33 companies on Bursa Malaysia as well as companies which went for listing in the last two years. If the share premium of all listed companies is tabulated, the amount would be many times more.

You can goole REITS risk

below the link

http://www.moneysense.gov.sg/understanding...ent-trusts.aspx

If you talking about the Reits volatile price maybe due to

1) move tamdem of MGS bond yield. which you can see Reits price drop during july 2013 becoz of Qe3 easing.

2) Change of major ownership, recently CapitalLand Trust by MRCB.

Will the related governments approve the merger? This is anti-competition...

Anyway, Holcim is not present in Malaysia, right? The impact should be minimal.

change of management maybe payout policy dividend is higher.

Margin of revenue for cement company is low.

in your opinion will the dividend be as consistent/higher than REITs?

NAV will drop after the distribution.

ETF consist of several non reit company; it always based on overall the company generosity,
