The poster state that the tournament will commerce if it reaches 32 teams .
that is 32 x $ 55 = $ 1760 .
And the TOTAL prize money is $ 1000
so where does the remaining money goes to ? =/
And 1 thing they dun pay any royalties or ' donation ' to the server they use to play their tournament , like GGC or lancraft .
Nice way of making money ya thumbup.gif respect notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

ya i agree this..
they dont even need to spend any fee's for this tournament.. and having $760 in pocket, well.. maybe is their salary..
for me.. this is sux unless the total prize money = $1760 smile.gif then i satisfy and join
eventhough i know sure lose, but i willing to pay for that $60 to the winner team, but not to the organizer itself
peace smile.gif

just like Kota Kemuning tourney smile.gif sux

Hi all. Sincerely thanks for your feedback.

Today we are here to explain our stand and not here to argue. We come in peace. biggrin.gif

Maybe there are something to clarify so you all can understand us a bit more. This tournament is a plan and initiative with a big future plan for chain of events. We are trying to make it regular for gamers so that they do not have to wait long period before organiser can come up with event just to compete.

This time we have prizes up to 8th prizes there are some cost there because the next tournament there are some teams which will get free and discounted entry, this tourney, 2 team got free entry from previous small event as prizes. So deducting that off, it's already a few hundred, the rest I can assure goes to the cos of executing the event. To have marshal for event that spans across 2 weeks there are cost. These are only part of it, DotaSG is a self sufficient entity which have did our best to provide news and update to the Dota community limiting not only to Singapore.

Yes the organiser will need to earn, there is never one event that organiser can survive without earning for long. They will run out of steam eventually.

The above are not excuses, but are our real plan and intention to do something regular for the Dota community.

So we hope for your understanding and hope your above explanation can change your opinion of the event and the organiser.

Those who support us will eventually understands that all we do will eventually be for a greater good in the long run.

By the way happy holidays to all, wish all of you a great new year ahead.

Hosting an event to earn money or promoting the game is different case.
you can see the different from registration fee's and compare with the prize money.

I don't know anything, just it's unbalance for the registration fee's and the prize.. it around $700 different smile.gif so, you got your point, i have my point.. no harm to... coz it won't attract me to join, but there still a bunch of ppl will join it.. nothing to worry if ppl found out that you are actually promoting the game, not by earning, sure got ppl support,
but i am out to support smile.gif
