i have just try on the elite today and i notice if using the component cable the rendering colour will be nicer ? and if i using HDMI the colour will be darker a bit izit? both are in 1080i on my samsung and both are ori cable from MS, so confuse on this 2 cable to choose which 1 to use cos i fell like the component make it colour more bright look nicer and when i try on HDMI i never notice any special? not event sharper?and i tot HDMI is the best output?

blink.gif hard to choose which 1 to use

don't be fooled. HDMI are marginally better on sending the signal than component. but for 720p/1080i/1080p, hdmi and component are identical.

HDMI all the way baby !! rclxms.gif Ever heard of Giraffe HDMI cables? (They cost RM220 - RM550 !!) biggrin.gif

HDMI gives the "purest" of audio+video... I don't know about others, comparing HDMI to anything else, but I just want to say this is "THE" HD cable on the planet !!

Resistance: Fall of Man does. whistling.gif There is a difference in sharpness btwn component vs hdmi but it's not noticeable with 720p, only on 1080p then it's more apparent. nod.gif

I fully agree. I tried HDMI from PS3 and Component from xbox360, the HDMI is way too dark.

what about VGA since i'm planning to hook my Xbox 360 Premium to a monitor.

The monitor supports both VGA and HDMI, but the HDMI cable costs more...

not sure if the picture quality justifies the price difference.

I've tested my 360 using component and VGA. VGA definitely looks sharper on my 42" plasma compared to component, but the colors are less vivid.

For PS3 you are supposed to adjust the HDMI settings to FULL RGB and super white.

Don't forget in order to get the best of any connection, you'll need to calibrate it.

To answer your question based on my personal experience with these two interface, with my eyes (short-sighted, BTW) cannot tell any different in Picture Quality. Maybe the significant difference between HDMI and Component is, HDMI transmit both Audio and Video, Component can't do that.
