Hi guys,

i have a tx1000 HP tablet, with 1GB (512mb x2) DDR2 SODIMM 667mhz ram.

i wanna up it to 2GB (at least, no 4gb, cant bother with 64bit)

so should i take a 2gb stick and sacrifice one 512 = 2.5GB without dual channel? how big performance impact does dual channel gives?

or should i take two 1GB sticks and sacrifice both 512 sticks and keep the dual channel config?

btw, are there any shops that take trade in ram?

wow, so many replies, lol.. thnx..

i am considering putting in a 2gb now, n adding a 2gb later, to complete the 4gb dual channel config because i'm a student, real tight on budget, tat could be 3-6 months later.. lol, and besides, the price is just 30 bucks different (for 2x 1GB and 1x 2GB, so i'm more future proof? lol)

and the notebook is amd chipset, so no flex memory i guess? lol..

so basically d performance hit isnt too big to be noticed in real world performance? i know the difference between the numbers in benchies n bandwidth. but in real world, i rather ask the pros properly... lol

and btw, is 64bit still a problematic? this notebook is known to only see 2.8gb out of 4gb in 32bit.
