1.5m is not that deep btw.
swimming pool ok la, but not for diving or snorkeling.
and what is there to take underwater in a swimming pool?
doesnt make sense to me.

not everyone have the luxury of sea diving and snorkeling..

this cam can take pictures at beach and swimming pool.. and during rain too..
i think it is great for outdoor activities especially for those who loves water.. not to worry of splashes.. smile.gif

besides.. i think its wonderful if you could capture a picture of your kids like this: smile.gif

(obviously this pic is not mine.. it is posted by one of xacti owner - i think somewhere from china or korea)

what about the video quality?

i 've watch some sample videos on internet and i think it is OK..
pictures also are very nice even at low lit areas..

but those vid and pic mostly are from oversea..

just wanna get some first hand experience here in malaysia hmm.gif

did i mentioned the price is just about RM1200+ (ebay.my) .. at lelong they sell RM1300+

.. but i did not find any shop selling this yet.. have not search in KL..

besides, the price is very competitive compared to
other digi/videocam..

the size is not that big also
(compared to videocam that use dvd)

just the size of your palm..

for RM1200+.. surely i'll go for this model.. rclxms.gif
just wanna hear first hand experience first ..

I'd have preferred the Olympus 790SW. Waterproof up to 10 m.

thanks for the reply.. rclxms.gif
i would definitely put this olympus on my list.

but i m more interested of video recording (with decent still picture).

i think for video, xacti is better handling with one-hand.
besides, xacti is equiped with stereo audio recording (mono audio for Olympus).

whats more important, longer recording video hours (better compression than AVI)..
oh yeah.. another feature of xacti that i like.. capturing still pictures while on video recording.. nod.gif

I think the shock resistant feature is very nice.

but i think xacti is still the first choice for me..
beside, even though your camera has shock resistant feature of up to 1.5m.. nobody wants to purposely drop their camera right? sweat.gif so i think i just have to take extra careful.

.. and i rarely dive deeper than 2m..

but really..
olympus is a nice camera. i'll put that as my second choice.

thanx for the suggestion though.. smile.gif

about the olympus MJU 790 SW

just a bit of correction.. 10ft (3m)

not 10m..

another thing.. the video mode can only record 10second clips.. sad.gif
