We do sometimes have used iMac for sales.
In fact we just sold an iMac 13.3" Core 2 Duo 2.0 (white) last month. We can also help you to upgrade the RAM. The is no charge if you buy the RAM from us. It is a DDR2 RAM for notebook. It cannot be use for PC. Right now we don't have stocks for iMac. Please check our website regularly for new stock. Or call me at 102-2969808 for info. |

However there is no difference between RAM used on Apple's consumer machines with the Kingston/Corsair/Munchkin you get at LYP. |

meanwhile , it is cheaper if u upgrade ur rams outside the apple store . it wont affect the warranty of the macbook . Added on December 21, 2007, 4:54 pmsorry , i tarik balik my words , buying macbook in Signapore cost RM5788 after conversion . i used to think at the old way that last itme macbook cost RM5999 and slightly cheaper in singapore . Well for the RAM, if you use the Santa Rossa processor, the the VALUE RAM will do, I bought 2X 2GB RAM Stick KINGSTON VALUE RAM just for RM320/-, it just accept PC RAM.meanwhile , it is cheaper if u upgrade ur rams outside the apple store . it wont affect the warranty of the macbook . This is observation from my own experience/MAC : a) POWERBOOK G4 ---> VALUE RAM = NOT OK b) MACMINI G4 ---> VALUE RAM = NOT OK c) iMac G5 ---> VALUE RAM = NOT OK d) iMac Core Duo ---> VALUE RAM = NOT 100%, depends on luck e) iMac Core 2 Duo (Santa Rossa) ---> VALUE RAM = OK f) MACBOOK PRO (Santa Rossa) ----> VALUE RAM = OK This post has been edited by 76radius: Dec 21 2007, 05:09 PM |

I haven't seen any of those problems before to be honest. I consult for a department having > 100 Macs and have had no problems using Kingston/Apacer/Mushkin/Micron etc RAM. Just buy generic branded RAM not the noname ones, Value RAM or otherwise, and it'll be ok. I personally use KVR on my personal Macs too.if you use the old Processor, INTEL CORE DUO (not the CORE 2 DUO ya), IBM G4 and G5, u better buy the RAM from APPLE. There are loads of shops selling Macs nowadays and if u want to save money then look out for the new model launch where they will dispose the older models at a discount. It all depends on what u wanna do with yr Mac and if u really need the speed.
For the rams, I bought Kingstons for RM300 for 2G and it works fine. |
