Only girls allowed to show off their tattoos here?

1) Can anyone recommend me a good tattoo parlor in KL? Want to get a tribal half-sleeve tattoo (an extension from the old tattoo across my arm [left bicep area]) and since it's exposed, it has to be nice or me and my skin would be fecked. So can anyone recommend me a good one who can ink complicated designs? Do bear in mind, I am hoping to look for a studio which has proper hygiene that sterilizes their tools. (Would it be weird if I asked them to sterilize their tools in front of me? tongue.gif)

2) Is it true that the more skilled the artist, the less it'd hurt? If so, tell me which is the best one to go to!! laugh.gif

3) Anyway to check what kind of ink is FDA approved and what would be the procedures after the tattoo (such as how long do I keep it bandaged or away from water and so on and so forth)?

3) Which part of the body would hurt the least to have a tattoo on? IINM, necks are the most receptive part of the body to pain? Does anyone know about this or is it a myth?

4) Anything that I should know of before selecting a tattoo parlor? biggrin.gif

Cheers and thanks in advance for an answer. icon_rolleyes.gif

1) everyone highly recommends borneo ink. but i didnt get mine thr, and the waiting list is damn long. i've said it many times and im gonna say it again...do consider INKED at sunway.
http://profiles.friendster.com/12662254  <-- this is the frenster profile of the owner/tattooist mr benny. can see some of his work thr. he did my snake tattoo, and its good. juz dont go to sg wang those places..i doubt their quality. i think all studio sterilizes their tool. u can ask them to open the new needle in front of u, actually they shud do that.

2) yes i think this is true. it would hurt less and the tattoo will heal faster. and a good tattoo will be smooth like ur skin, it shouldn't bulge out like scar.

3) u can remove the bandage after 1 hour or so. just wash it gently with soap water and apply the bepanthen cream daily. stay away from chlorine water (no swimming!) and erm seafood la basically. its gonna be damn itchy when healing so dont ever scratch it!

3) the least painful part..haha i have no idea. for me tattoo doesnt hurt at all =p thats becos i havent try getting my neck or spine area tattooed. heard its pretty damn pain thr.

4) know what u want..tattoo artists hate indecisive and fickle minded customers. be specific with wat design u wish to have. communicate well with the artist. look at his/her works first before getting inked by him/her. and survey the price to avoid getting ripped off.

hmm i could only think of this for now. happy getting inked. so jealous :\

1) What's the waiting list there like? And is Mr Benny skilled?

2) WTH?! The parlor didn't ask me to apply any cream or whatever. He just asked me to refrain from swimming, gym and seafood and asked me not to bath that area too much (forgot what was the reason he gave). But in any case, what's with the bepanthen cream?

3) About the ink, any way to find out what kind of ink he uses? Again, I'd like to make sure that a wide area job uses safe ink.

4) Where did you have yours inked? tongue.gif AFAIK arms, naval and buttocks hurt the least. Mind me asking, did you do anything to prepare for the pain? I actually used a mechanical pencil tip to scrap against my skin to prepare before my first tattoo.

5) Well, yeah lah, I already had the design and printed it out but just looking for the right parlor. laugh.gif
