Do cleaning and cooking is not first priority but it does give an advantage if you know how to.
For different guy, their criteria for a good housewife are different,let me give you some example:
Husband A: Likes his wife to organise their family neatly while he earns the family income. His wife will need to -> Do housework, take care of children
Husband B:Likes his wife to stay at home thats all. He might go out and foya-foya but his wife must act don't know and take care of the house.
Husband C: Likes his wife to have interaction with him and discuss with him everything about the family. From planning to buy some new kitchen equipment to children's tuition all must discuss
Husband D: Likes his wife to show caring to him. Though his wife doesn't know how to do housework or cook, but as long she take the initiative to do it and he can see that she is trying he will be happy.

Different people different criteria. For me, I only want my wife to be true to me and housework or cooking we can both learn together it's ok.
