Looking for some tech advice again.
Anyone of you familiar with DLINK 2640T? I got it the other day and noticed that after a long period of inactivity (usually a few hours), I can't seem to get onto WWW. But the modem says that I'm connected to streamyx and the web browsers says that the internet page cannot be displayed.
The DNS settings didn't change. It's on the LAN settings so I'm guessing it's something on the modem itself. When I set it up, I was using the Setup Wizard and got connected to streamyx that way. UserID and password are put into the program.
Any suggestions guys?
lagmyx is FAMOUS for ddos/timeouts
so weaker routers will die off really easily (such as those crappy aztechs from tmnut)
try to look up for firmware updates, and flash ur router. they usually solve the problem completely (though HEAVY BT that connects to more peers than your router's cpu can sustain will still kill it)
AFAIK a few older dlink models are all subjected to being ddos to hell easily, and most of them have new firmwares to resolve this problem.
be warned though, flashing your router can be risky, and if anything wrong happens, your router will be completely dead and you got to bring back to seller for RMA/warranty claims. Try not to flash on rainy/thunderstorm days as power blackout during a hardware flash is one of the main reasons they die.
