Looks like a clone to me, well, namely N81 clone. Even if it IS a real Nokia model, well, looks more like a S40 instead of S60.
Oh yeah, where's the xenon flash for sliders?

QUOTE(almattitude_v1 @ Dec 21 2007, 12:46 AM) Yeah I think the pretty sad thing is, Nokia starting to show the sign to drop support for the pencil key and maybe the irda port as well (it's damn useful for installing your remote control's code and can maybe can control astrol with the phone IMHO, N95 is the best design on a non touch-screen non QWERTY phone I've ever seen...Especially like the keypads and the navigation keys below the screen... |

Well well...Lookie here...
http://www.nokia.de/A4831082 And this... http://www.intomobile.com/2008/02/07/germa...ifications.html Not a typical Nokia product, eh? Should be something a little more stunning. German leak the spec first?? Looks like Nokia has some conflict internally? This post has been edited by pigcat: Feb 8 2008, 01:02 PM |

QUOTE(squall_kay @ Feb 8 2008, 03:12 PM) it came with 950mAh battery?? so can it stand at least 1day moderate/heavy usage?? That's what I thought, normally Nokia will give each model a unique look even brother models like N95 and N95 8GB. But somehow this is like no change at all, and look at the C button and the call/end button, how to press??!? even n95 8gb came 1200mAh battery n n81 with 1050mAh maybe becoz its proto model oni...nway, if this a real n96, too bad..the design is good but too much similiar with n81,,thus no design "tersendiri" for the new flagship model... hope they added xenon n give better battery capacity Expecting a xenon flash on sliders too, oh well... |

Wow...looks like an official photoshoped photo by Nokia, so it's real...Now who want to buy N95 8GB you can hold on and consider upgrade to 16GB and big plus of having microSD expansion!
However, however...You might want to consider the fact that N95 8GB has way better battery life...Nokia must be crazy to repeat the same old mistake again... By the way where's the gallery button?? That's the button I press the most within all the side keys...And front camera?? This post has been edited by pigcat: Feb 11 2008, 06:28 PM |

The thing that's worth mentioning is that the 4 multi function buttons during landscape mode. It'll change its icon during game or media playing. Also the media keys around the dpad, icons will be off if slide into landscape position.
Ya if it was 1950mAh, this will be another killer phone...How sad... |

QUOTE(Seaedge @ Feb 18 2008, 01:58 PM) 8mp is too fast move for a phone camera IMO. i guess they will take it step by step. the next camera phone level should be 7MP 1st. I'd prefer a super sharp and vibriant 5MP photos than so so 7/8MP. 5MP is IMHO actually more than enough for casual shots. You'd probably going to resize to 1024x768 than sending full size photo to your friends anyway. Also smaller size picture means faster picture processing and more photos for the same storage size. |

QUOTE(Survivor @ Feb 21 2008, 01:50 PM) First, let's don't jump into conclusion so fast whether or not there is any improvement between N95 8G and N96. What you see is only on paper, you haven't use the phone yet, so let's just be fair to all parties. Of cause we consumer want everything the best, VGA resolution display, 8 MP camera, etc...but we must also think from the design n application engineers point of view, to include so much into such a small form factor is already incredible, so don't push it. Although we can always argue that those are not our problem and since we consumers are the one who is paying the $$$, they should find a way to deliver what the consumer required. But hey, they didn't really put a gun at our head to ask us buy their product either right? At least the design already got conclusion la... If you read my post previously, you probably already know that the N96 might be using a new processor which is different from N95/N95 8G/N82. N95/N95 8G/N82 are using Texas Instruments OMAP2420 processor while the new N96 might be using STMicroelectronics Nomadik STn8815 processor. I do a bit digging into these two processors and found out the following differences: OMAP2420 CPU: ARM1136 at 330MHz Power Management: TWL92230 Camera Processor: DM290 STn8815 CPU: ARM926EJ at 393MHz Power Management: STw481x Camera Processor: unknown From above comparison, I am quite sure there will be some performance differences in term of battery life time and camera and imaging performance. But whether or not it will be better I cannot tell. We Just have to wait and see. Upon light searching it seems that it also has video and 3D accelerator... I understand we can't make conclusion so early, but I've yet to see a 950mAh can do much good on powerful devices in the past...At least the talk time is far from impressive...
