I wanna ask.
Does everyone has problem with the keys (the front interface)?
Seems like very hard to press when I try the demo unit in 1U.
Even the dummy has better feedback than the real unit which is shocking.

My wife AP set N85 can use Nokia Map without any problem at all. I dont think there is any difference between ap and original set when it comes to Nokia Map usage.

You dont need to pay anything to use the GPS. How did they charge you for navigation? From what I heard, only need to pay for data charges if you request for voice navigation. Just disable assisted navigation lor.

u must be a GPS newbie or u have no idea what you are talking about.

i'm gonna say this one time so listen properly yah
the usage of nokia maps is free.
it will tell you your position at the current position.

Navigation and Voice commands are also free .....during the FREE TRIAL PERIOD. lepas tu u kena bayar. baca below.

http://www.nokia.com.my/A4893149

how they charge u ? either credit card or thru your operator billing fee. read more bout it there.
Voice navigation does not use data charges. only AGPS transfer of data such as surroundings POI's u get charged.

even if u disable the AGPS, it doesnt mean u dont get navigation u noob. it just means u rely more on sattelite signals (which in total are 12, and at any point of time 7 are needed for a 10m accuracy reading and 3-4 for substantial readings) built into all GPS and AGPS devices are little processors made from silicon chips which does calculation correction.

where on earth did u obtain your info from ? Nokia Maps are RM40 per month. and the yearly fee is cheaper. but its still useless and maps are incomplete.
thats why people switch to GMXT which i doubt u know what it is.
Then you must be unlucky to get charged lor laugh.gif
I bought AP set and my previous Maxis bill and now DiGi bill show nothing at all. So Im clueless about your so called charges. From what I learn about, download the maps into your phone using Nokia Map Loader and then disable the Assisted GPS + Network. Also change the setting to warning whenever it tries to go online. From what Im told, as long as I dont use the navigation option, there will be no charges at all which is fine. I only use it to find out road names as most of our roads has lost its signboard. Already using it for more than a month without incurring any charges. So should be valid.

Im really a GPS noob... but I do believe there is no free lunch.

I have to say I like N96 too before it was launched. My wife wanted to buy it as well. But after we tried it in showroom, its another story. I think it will become a bit like M600/P990.
