Guys, allow me to clarify something here.
DA is originally started by Southern Bank before they merged with CIMB. Their were designed for the "Graduated" which means you must own a Diploma or Degree to apply for it. It's been a Free For Life card since it begin.

The other CIMB (Paypass) are the originally the CC from CIMB, consists of Classic, Gold and Platinum. For the past few only CIMB started offering these as Free For Life. Currently they are promoting the Gold Card with free gift for the walk in applicant (applied on a few branches only - their HQ at Damansara (formerly Southern Bank HQ) for the Klang Valley area). This was advertised in newspaper a while back.

p/s: I'm a Southern Bank CC holder since 2001 and recently they offer an upgrade to Gold Card that are Free For Life.

FYI: EON Bank also offer a Free For Life for their CC with the condition you need to swipe it for at least 12 times in a year (average once a month), but they are very conservative on the credit limit.

Great information. im submitted my application via CIMB branch on 24Dec and today got calls from SC... they will be sending the card to my house... tongue.gif

For me, I went to the counter, payed my outstanding balance and told them I want to cancel my card. They gave me form to fill in, then they punched holes on the chip and magnetic stripe of the CC, and photocopy the completed form with the card on top.
Better be safe than sorry. smile.gif
*
how come so hassle ? ? ?

i remember last time when im cancel my PBB card, i just fill in the letter. tht's all. they never request for the card... hehe...

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 6 2008, 02:25 PM)
Why not submit an online application and mail/fax them your supporting documents?
*
yups. apply online then only send in / fax in the supporting document.

last time i got heard, u apply online citibank, and they will make arrangement to send people to take the supporting document from ur office... this is what i heard, but dun know got this arrangement o not...

I got my CIMB CCs 1 week after I submitted application form.

Sigh... now i really can see the different between a local bank and the foreign bank....

Local bank "slow" in action.... really huge different and dissapointed...

Got my DA CC today... come in with Master card n Visa... and im just activated my MasterCard only...

DA like david mention, need to call in to activate.

My dissapointment:

can not use immediately, have to wait for 1 hour later only can use. doh.gif

come to E-banking, also can not register online. doh.gif i have to fill in the global link and send it back to DA.

then come to Secure-e Pay, (where all the online paying o shopping need to register) tried to register but failed. Called the CS then only found out tht, im only can register my secure-e pay tomolo after 8am... doh.gif

all are operational issues.... doh.gif doh.gif

guess... my expectation is too high for them... sweat.gif

My dissapointment:

can not use immediately, have to wait for 1 hour later only can use. doh.gif **That CS told me that my card is ready to use after 10 minutes or I heard wrongly that he'll activate my card 10 minutes later. No worries to me since I'm desperately want to use it. **
the CS girl told me is 1 hour.

come to E-banking, also can not register online. doh.gif i have to fill in the global link and send it back to DA.
**E-banking? View information and statement using CIMBClicks? If that is what you meant, I ticked on the form for this option and I did ask about this during my call for activation. The CS told me that my PIN will come later (don't know how many days it's going to take). It's already 2 to 3 days after I got my card. Let see how on Monday since Thursday was a public holiday.**
e-banking or online banking lol... i thinks the DA is using their own DA kua... just now when im complain about Secure pay thing, he ask me which website im in now. seems DA is DA lol... not CIMBClicks.

then come to Secure-e Pay, (where all the online paying o shopping need to register) tried to register but failed. Called the CS then only found out tht, im only can register my secure-e pay tomolo after 8am... doh.gif
**From where you register that? Are you referring to Mastercard Securecode? DA support this already?**
it's from DA website itself lol. not the Mastercard Securecode. just now call the CS, the CS ask me which website im in now and wan me to read out the link to him. and im in the DA website.
btw, the pin, u will received within 14days upon received of request form lol

all are operational issues.... doh.gif doh.gif

guess... my expectation is too high for them... sweat.gif

dammit... im so embrassing... sweat.gif doh.gif

while i was happy and started to use my DA mastercard, whose know the transaction did not Honour...

have to use another CC to pay the thing. sweat.gif

then called the DA SC again... to ask what is happening to my card.

then the SC told me that my card is not yet activated? sweat.gif sweat.gif i was calling them on this morning, can choose to activate the Mastercard, then the SC say there is not such thing. Normally is both card activated together and advised me that if i wish to cancel my visa card, i have to write in to inform them.

so the SC told me that it's activated immediate for both card.

then again i ask how about the Secure E-pay? can i register now instead of waiting until the next day morning 8am according to the second SC. then she told me again, there is no such thing, once my card is activated i can register NOW... again, im feel cheated by the second SC... he din even help me check... giving me the fake statement. doh.gif

Argh.... my first day of DA is spoilled by the 1st SC... telling me all the fake/un-true statement.... vmad.gif

Next time, i shd ask their name, their employee number before proceed with my questions... calling them cost me money.... wasted for calling while getting wrong information....

anyways, the third SC is very helpful. hope she not wrong again.

If the card doesnt works, usually its not your card problem..

If u want to "keep face" just scold the cashier and say your card confirmed working at other shop.
