@Dyong,
If ur satisfied with ur current card, there's no point in looking for a change. I think most Platinum cards offer about the same priviledges [which is close to none!] Citibank's Plat card used to be able to give you access into Bangkok's Airport Lounge but that no longer is the case. Apparently, the only card with free access into KLIA's Premier Lounge is Standard Chartered (Visa only!).

I do hear however MBB Treat Points are very much better than what Citibank offers [and the one reason I'm still using Citibank as my primary card is cause I rather have my points consolidated in 1 bank for easier 'redemption' if u know what i mean] blush.gif

PS: Ok I'll let Mom have her day with your wallet; i'll have that Citi Plat for the weekend then rclxms.gif [see.. I told U she's gonna love me!] tongue.gif

@joanalooidog,
I believe HSBC will auto waive your annual fee if u use the card more than 12 times (that's averagely once a month). If you swiped it 12 times a month and only in that month, I believe you would have still met the criteria *grins*

Well, they can go ahead and blacklist me. I have nothing to lose with them and I think they have nothing to lose without me as well.  wink.gif

I don't like to call Citibank to waive annual fees. I repeat, I don't beg Citibank, in fact I cancelled their cards several times when they refused to waive the fees, yet they re-offer back to me after 6-12 mths. Then cancel again after 1-2 yrs... then offer back.  doh.gif

Why do I need them to clear my name ??? For what reason ??? so I can beg and apply their card again ? Now I get fedup and just keep the card as spare. In fact, they send me a Shell Citibank CC and call me up to activate it... I told them no thanks and cut the card.

Things I don't like about Citibank CC:
1) Limited branches to pay in KL
2) Cannot pay online like Maybank2u (obviously I'm just a small chick-pea that doesn't warrant a savings/current a/c in Citibank)
3) Amex is offering 2x points forever. The rest 1x only, except promotion period or rebate.
4) International recognition ? BAH!... So far I did not encounter any problem using MBB outside M'sia.

I don't have problem using MBB Amex in Asia and Europe. I'm not here to champion MBB or Amex, but I think it is personal preference on which card suits a person lifestyle better.

The blacklist is to make you difficult to get a loan from other banks, basically it would appear in your CRRIS report maintained at Bank Negara. After some time, it could become "Hard core " borrower. The bankers are concerned with these borrowers.

If you are into business, your company may not get a loan because of you. Other shareholders could be at odd with you. It could be years later and you would wander why the banks reject your loan.

Do not mean to frighten you.

When the annual fee is defaulted. It goes automatically to CCRIS's report.

@SKY 1809,
Having the fees waived doesn't necessarily mean it's defaulted. It's defaulted only if U don't make payment for it. If u aren't charged for it, how then do u make payment for it? Also, if the annual fee's defaulted, the bank reserves the right to cancel the card isn't it? blush.gif

@amerz,
I have never applied for a credit card online but from my experience, HSBC's response time is pretty quick. I received my actual credit card a week after I submitted my application.

If you using internet banking, you can pay online e payment.

Or go to your bank, and pay using Giro transfer to Citbank ( your acc no ).

The bank charges RM 2 .

If I guess it correctly, it depends whose name the bill is on. If it's your company then the answer is no if I'm not mistaken.

actually citibank do have really free credit cards.. without any conditions imposed to waiving their annual fees. these are called complementary cards.

it's one good way to have such cards.. don't have to worry that you have to swipe x-times to have a free annual fee.

hi tinkerbel,

you got that right.. you can sweet talk them to lower it to 250k for that citigold account. most banks have something similar.. i was surprized that public bank offers such cards too.

Haha Tinker.
What A good way to start a morning.

Tell you what, it will most probably ended up as such.
Mum and you goes for High-tea and shopping session, I am left all alone to plough through work and mundane.

I slack in monitoring reward points, more often than not, they expire even before I realised....
