~1st R680 Test~

Translated Version from Google :::

Driver acceptability directly into 3870 × 2, 1024 MB memory Show

2 RV670 core frequency is 770/2250 MHz, and is exactly the same as the 3870 version

Central is a great bridge chip responsible for the allocation of bandwidth PCIE

Fever is not the whole card, loaded with time running 3 DMark06 only 60 degrees

From http://www.anandtech.com/weblog/showpost.aspx?i=344

AMD had one very important demonstration at CES: the Radeon HD 3870 X2. We won't be able to bring you performance numbers from this card until the end of the month, but AMD let us snap some photos of the card. Two 3870 GPUs on a single board? That's AMD's entry into the high end market for Q1 2008.

CES 2008: Good four chip scaling

We've seen it and heard it from a few sources but it looks like two R680, Radeon 3870 X2 will score just over 20,000 in 3Dmark06.

The cards are scheduled for introduction at the end of January, but the final driver for four chips will be later in Q1.

It is quite good scaling and it looks like a great score for a non overclocked system. It will be interesting to see it performing in all games, but that is another matter all together. In most games it should be faster than Ultra, that is what we've been told.

3870 X2 lose to 9800GX2 yeah !!~~ maybe cheaper then RV680 also  whistling.gif

CES 2008: Faster chips
We said this back in 2007 but let us be clear on one thing. Nvidia's upcoming high end sandwich board, Geforce 9800 GX2 is going to end up faster than a single Radeon 3870 GX2.

This comes as no surprise as Nvidia's single G92 is faster than a single RV670 and in the same matter a dual chip Nvidia beats ATI.

Radeon 3870 X2 will be very competition as its single chip brother was but it is still a bit slower compared to Nvidia. We still believe hat Radeon 3870 X2 will have quite good sales as it will be significantly cooler than Nvidia's card and it will be available in massive numbers

Yes. But if dual cards setup i think 3870x2 CrossfireX is still better than 9800GX2 Quad SLI... hmm.gif

CES 2008: Late January

Once ATI launches its dual RV670 board you can expect it to be in decent volumes. This is the plan and if ATI wanted to launch a limited number was able to do it back in December.

Samples are in good shape and hardware was finished back at December but we are still waiting for the final driver.

This is a tricky product as some games will scale really well but some including Crysis are much more unfriendly to the dual cards and ATI wants to make sure that it has the best driver possible when it launches this card. The plan is to introduce them in late January.
