dont worry, ati will definitely wants to make this card compatible with any mobo, with any chipsets...
btw, even the geforce 7950gx2 is supported by the biostar t965pt mobo...

This card will rule.

I'm pretty much sure that the MSRP will be 350USD (100USD below 9800GX2). Yet it's a force to be reckoned with, I might have to laugh at whoever bought 8800GTSes or even 8800GTs at super marked up prices.

That means the price will be about the same as 8800GTS 512MB, but performance will be same/better, even in AA.

wrong.. right now you can find 88gt and 88gts selling below their msrp...
but if the rumours are correct, the 9800gx2 will only use g92 chips..
which means that it's not next-gen yet and the r680 card will have 2 x rv670 chips..
well, from my point of view, current g80 8800 and 29xt users will not view the r680 and 9800gx2 as a very substantial upgrade..
btw, im skipping g92s, rv670, r680 for the real next gen cards -> r700 and g100 icon_idea.gif

i delay my plan to play 3870 because of this, hope it can lauch very soon with its performance and price.. hehe

if u cant wait, then its better to buy 2 3870 and cf it..
btw ur c2d is stuck at stock frequency, overclock it so that there'll be no cpu bottleneck if u upgrade ur gc rclxms.gif

got any source about it? if 1.8k then better get 2 hd3870 and xfire...
*
i dont think r680 will cost more than 2x 3870..
rite now u can get 3870 for rm700++..
so if r680 is priced at rm1200 or rm1300 then it's definitely a steal brows.gif

i'd say RM1499 at LYP can get... hmm.gif
*
if its start selling a rm1499 then id say its reasonable but im hoping for the card to be priced at sub rm1300..
btw ill be ditching my old gts and maybe upgrade to r680 or 9800gx2 if the price is right brows.gif icon_idea.gif

I have got another question here regarding the hd3870 CF vs hd3870x2...
wouldnt it be better using hd3870 CF as they are using DDR4 while hd3870x2 using DDR3...

so are there any negatives in DDR3 vs DDR4 while both also 1gb? any idea? hmm.gif
*
well i think if u have a mobo that supports 16x 16x cf then hd3870 cf is the way to go because its memory clockspeed is 2250mhz compared to r680's memory clockspeed of 1800mhz.. icon_idea.gif
on the other hand, if u dont have a cf capable mobo, then u're better off with r680 as it uses internal cf to utilize both rv670 gpu nod.gif
