Currently running on thier own. EU sumtimes does not mean europe, but based on my bro ( i donno where he get sources), it is hosted in frace. Now there is some guy hosting it up la. If u wanna give it a try, go on. All is working

Haha cute statement. France is under EU.. Anyway, source may not be true but it could be either in UK or in some other EU countries. France is unlikely to host English localized content.

It can be sorta considered as privately hosted because altho they claim to have bought the rights to the game, the whole operation looks shaky. I guess if you just play for fun its alright, but i heard they intend to sell premium items too. I wouldnt recommend buying anything. They dont appear to have a proper company/business registered running it..and, the gms/admin etc are like separated geographically. They dont go to an office. And then some of the coding people are like, still in school..I even recognized some of them who used to be the hackers in the e-games server. So if you wanna pay for stuff, becareful.

FYI, the server is based in France, and ppl maintaining it are hackers. They bought the license from the developer, so now they are hosting and patching it themself. So far they have done close beta. And althought it takes a time, coz of lack of manpower to code it, it went pretty well.

Now it's in open beta. The client is ready and u can registered to play it at their website, www.gtheu.com . A few of my friends are already playing it.. Nvr heard any lag issue from them.

I played this game long time ago.. about 3 years ago, from low lvl to high. And win tournaments.. But damn, those e-games GM still haven give me my tournament prize >_<

Back at that time, at the end of the lifespan of the game, alot of hacks happened, gold dupe, speed hack, god-mode and even item mall items are being dupe.

So these hackers, they get together, bought the license, and coz the love of this game, they maintain it, although we're far apart geographically.

Current server cap is set to 3000 players, so for the hardware and connection, i don't think it'll be a problem.

We've sinned as a hacker, so now we want to contribute back to the ppl who love this game, and make it really a hack free game.

I remember this game having a very nice title screen song.

I remember this game being very buggy as i cant even login during the very much earlier phases like when it started

From what I've heard from previous players/contacts/friends, it's ran by the same people who were responsible for it's demise. I've nothing to quote here but the game was good, had a great community. It's better left dead imo.

i just happened to bump into this forum, read a couple of posts and everyone seems to be so lost here.. just registered so that i could at least explain a little bit about the game progress.. i have been playing this game since in e-games, we loved this game alot and i know many of us still do, sweet and bitter memories are all embeded within us ...
we all know this game was doomed due to hackers and irresponsible gms/admins. don't know how many of u can remember fairlight, usopp and gang (the hackers that teamed up and call themselves Curse-X). well they hacked the game, but deep down they love the game as much as we do, ever since the server in e-games closed down, works and progress had been done to revive this game.A guy that goes by the nickname Lucky bought the game (at least he claimed he did) and together with Curse-X they open up a new server to host GTH, called GTHeu, and yahhh EU stands for Europe, Lucky and Curse-X are all basically from Europe, but the game is not just for europeans, we wish that all ex- players from e-games can come back again, the previous community was just f*cking awesome..
Well, having said that much, Lucky and Curse-X had some internal arguement (i know not much,so i'll just skip that part) Lucky splitted with Curse-X . Curse-X lead by Fair-X went on teaming with MegaOne (another mastermind) to continue with another gth server, GTH GamesPirate (also known as GTHgp). their server are still in beta testing phase now (they released slower than GTHeu because Fair-x and MegaOne want to completely patch all the hacks and bugs) . they know what they are doing trust me . Fair-X and his team along with MegaOne have wide knowledge in this stuffs,i don't know how i should explain, let's just say they have enough qualifications to handle things.Unlike Lucky who is still a college student.
Now GTHeu is in deep shit,because of inexperience gms and corruption within the admins . History repeats itself, GTHeu ended up the same way as GTH e-games. Now the GTHeu is dominated by hackers (chinese hackers from china). News about GTHgp spreaded fast as soon as the beta phase began and now all players have migrated from GTHeu to GTHgp, GTHgp is still under beta testing now which means that once the main launch, all accounts in the beta phase (now) will be deleted for a fresh start. THey are now fixing and patching all the bugs/hacks.
One thing great about GTHgp, Fair-x and his team manage to extend the max level of the characters to 255, last time the max level was only 98/99. and he also fix the 2nd awakening. which means in GTHgp, we can finally see our characters involve into the second long awaited job. according to megaone, they are also planning to have a 3rd awakening, but that will be later as they want to settle all the major problems first.
