New Samsung Series 5 LCD TV are FULL HD. Price starts from RM3799 for 32". Potential buyers should seriously consider this panel. Now gamers can game @ FULL HD. Gone are the days where gamers will have to choose hard between a HD Ready panel and FULL HD panel

QUOTE(okk @ May 22 2008, 10:44 AM) For any screen 40 inch and below, human eyes cannot differentiate 720p and 1080p. So it's actually a waste of money to buy Full HD for small screens....just my humble opinion You are partially correct. If you sit far away, you won't notice the difference. However, if you were to sit closer to the screen, thats when FULL HD will beat the crap out of HD panel only. |

Using Dell SP2208WFP sure beats the crap out of 32" LCD TV and 22" DVI monitor. This is because DELL SP2208WFP are able to receive 1080P signal and downscale it to 1680x1050. Excellent monitor for it's pricing. My Sharp 32" LCD TV looks OK running 720P for GT5P

QUOTE(prazole @ Jun 4 2008, 08:11 PM) erm most LCD TV also able to do that la (those that support 1080p signals).. Ya, can display 1280x720P only. DELL can receive input signal of 1080P and downscale to 1680x1050. Smaller screen higher resolution, sure image quality looks better.i have Dell 24" and its the best monitor i have at home.. but my samsung 32'' series 4 is easily surpasses in terms of image quality, color, etc.. resolution of coz 24" is full HD & samsung series 4 is 720p.. otherwise it is very much better i think maybe ur sharp is older model? |

QUOTE(prazole @ Jun 5 2008, 05:35 PM) yes it does downscale 1080p to 720p.. Yes, it does downscale to 720P if the title is of 720P, so there won't be difference between monitor and LCD TV. However, comparing 1080P title such as GT5P, the difference is huge. You can clearly see the jagged lines of the speedometer/rev meter but at the end of day u are looking at 720p what, i doubt its better looking.. its the same resolution.. 720p still 720p regardless u have a 1080 source.. even ur monitor is 1680x1050, its still 720p image.. its stretched slightly |

QUOTE(DDSFan8 @ Jun 21 2008, 03:17 AM) I've boycott Phillips now. I thought it's a good brand but it's not. All Phillips products that i've used have limited lifespan (All KO before or nearing 3 years). 2 CRT monitors KO less than 3 years. 2 CD Player KO in 3 years. No more Phillips for me. Maybe you can consider their lightbulbs though. |

Sometimes chicken brand HDMI cable might not be able to out 1080p signal. I have 1 that can only d0 720p. Sending 1080p signal will causes blank screen once in a while.

Upgrading from SHARP 32" HD Ready to SONY BRAVIA 40" KLV40V550B. Brother's out there, if possible, try to get at least a 32" HDTV instead of a PC monitor. You'll never be satisfied of the size... I've upgraded from:-
22" DELL HDMI Monitor (1680x1050) 32" SHARP AQUOS LC32A33M HDTV (1366x768) 40" SONY BRAVIA V series KLV40V550B (1920x1080) 50"??? anyone??? SSJBEN, what setup you're currently using anyway? I see you must be an ULTRA gamer.. look at those Platinum throphies This post has been edited by Thrust: Oct 13 2009, 08:21 PM |

When you cap ayam HDMI cables also have to becareful. Some can't display 1080P resolution. I faced that problem already. The signal goes on & off inconsistently ~_~.

Joey, I've looked through your ALTEC LANSING speaker specifications, it cannot support optical input thus there won't be digital sound (AC3/DTS).

Razaelx, whenever possible, go for 1080P full HD resolution. Don't believe others saying that 32" has no noticeable effects between HD panel & Full HD Panel.
Even on a 22" monitor, the difference can be quite noticeable provided you're running a 1080P title like Gran Turismo 5. The tachometer line on 1080P is so much smoother compared to a 720P 32" TV. I've changed from a 32" HD Panel to a 40" FULL HD Panel mainly because of the support for 1080P. Another advise is, I strongly recommend you to get the Sony V series. You'll notice the color is much more sharper & vibrant of compared to Sony S series. I'm a V series user & I assure you, it'll beat the crap out of the S series. hope you don't mind me chipping in my 2 cents |

QUOTE(Razaelx @ Nov 24 2009, 10:12 PM) thanks for your suggestion Thurst If you're playing native 720P titles, then there shouldn't be much differences. If the title can run at 1080P, then there will be a noticeable difference not only on a 32" TV, even a 22" monitor can notice the difference.thrust me, i would really want a full hd tv but the model that i state just now is all i could afford(i'm still studying lorh the cheapest v series is around 2500 rite? woah totally way above my budget n things just got more confusing for me now ,cause i thought at 32" hd ready n full hd couldnt really tell diffrence rite ? anyone else had used S series before ? |

hhhmm... no doubt if you want SONY, you got to pay an extra premium for their brand name. Functionality wise, other brands are comparable & some even exceeds SONY

QUOTE(gajah44 @ Jan 31 2010, 10:25 PM) ok im panicking a bit now. Just got a ps3 today. Connected it to my sharp 42a77m lcd via hdmi. most likely is your cable. I had the same problem when trying to display at 1080p. Change HDMI cable & now it works flawlessly. In the ps3 menu, i keep getting disconnected to my lcd. Suddenly no image for a few seconds(5-10s) and then it comes back on. Tried playing mgs4 but no sound. It was ok when i tested it at sonystyle CAn anyone help? Is it the settings, cable or something wrong with my lcd. |
