sigh i give up trying all i can do...

Resolution tried (How do I do it? Switch over to HDTV and set the resolution and switch back to my LCD monitor and see if it's working)
- 576p (both 4:3 and 16:9 wont run on my lcd monitor, will switch back to VGA)
- 720p (working but offscreen)
- 1080i (not working, Input not supported, will switch back to VGA only after you pull out the hdmi)
- 1080p (not working, Input not supported, will switch back to VGA only after you pull out the hdmi)

this is how my screen show me sad.gif cry.gif rclxub.gif
funny is... no switching back to DVI once you switch to VGA (if you do so, it will turn black for a sec and back to VGA)
to go back to DVI, turn off the ps3 and turn on again, then the monitor will run on DVI again... but still result is as below rclxub.gif

Strange, no user reports on overscanning issues on that particular model.

I'm starting to suspect you're right on the cabling. I had a 3rd party VGA cable for 360 last time, and on the Samsung SP50L2HX DLP TV i has last time, it overscanned quite a bit, but not as much as yours. Lucky that TV had an X-axis underscan function to bring it back to parity. On component, that TV works perfectly.

Sorry ,cant be much of help here.

I tried with another cable and it seems that it's not working for my LCD too.
my friend said last time xbox360 also have this problem too and microsoft fix the prob with a new patch / firmware.

i guess i hope sony come up with something like tat.

Wow great price! Have to go hunt for it already.
SE198WFP does not have 1:1 pixel mapping, nor does it even have forced full 16:9 aspect ratio. Not a very good monitor for PS3.

If you really are on the budget, try hunting out the BenQ FP94VW. Its kinda rare now a days, but I think there are still some shops selling it in LYP.

how much would tat monitor roughly cost?

Added on July 10, 2008, 10:29 pmwow, i see the retail price is rm799.
that's out of my budget.

my budget is around rm550-650. hope u guys can help me outta this.

19" inch, 1:1 mapping, 16:9 compatible, dvi(hdcp) compatible.

thanks

Get a monitor with an HDMI port, I actually seriously considered getting that monitor moffit suggested, but I ended up buying an BenQ FP94VW which is sadly discontinued.

Judging from my monitor though, if you get a monitor with an HDMI port there should be an option in the menu's somewhere where you can change the aspect ratio to 16:9 or whatever, it sucks on mine though as it crops up the picture.

But yeah, there should be an option somewhere, ask people in the NewEgg forums if you found a monitor as some of them might know whether it has the ability to change the aspect ratio.

i really hope this is not true >_<;;;
