Don't get so caught up in the progressive vs interlace thing man - just bcos progressive doesn't mean better!!!

If you want to talk about image information/pixels - clearly 1080i has more image information than 720p. Which one looks better depends on MANY factors including your TVs native res, de-interlacing capabilities, etc etc (including things like motion smoothing and others).

FYI HD Broadcasts in the US are in 1080i. So you're telling me you'd rather settle for 576p?
