To reset the SDTV <-> HDTV on your PS3, while switched off (back switch on, red LED) press and hold power button.

To set 720p (or any other setting), go to Settings -> Display Settings. Just reconfigure your display.

U connect from PS3 to PC using HDMI -> DVI correct? Check cable and/or HDMI-DVI converter.

I've boycott Phillips now. I thought it's a good brand but it's not. All Phillips products that i've used have limited lifespan (All KO before or nearing 3 years). 2 CRT monitors KO less than 3 years. 2 CD Player KO in 3 years.  doh.gif

No more Phillips for me.

Maybe you can consider their lightbulbs though.  sweat.gif

Hmm... so far I have no problem with my Phillips HDTV. Bought it back in 2006 (World Cup edition).

Anyone using GC (Carrefour) or One (Tesco) LCDs?..need ur opinion on those LCD tv...need it for gaming purposes only...

Honestly, I have never tried any of those brands. But, I suggest that you keep away from 'em. I mean, try to save a couple of few bucks and get a decent one. Just my 2 cent. smile.gif
If your budget is under RM2k, try looking around Giant. Once I saw a 32" Samsung LCD TV for RM1.8k++ at Giant Permata (near Tmn Melawati).

Hi i'm also looking to buy a new LCD monitor but i'm confused over which to buy, I need a monitor which has full HD for PS3 and blu-ray movie, able to link to my laptop and play PS2 games and support pal too!
Pls offer me some advice for buying which brand and model of LCD monitor... thanks!!

If you want cheap LCD monitor to hook up to PS3, you can try BenQ T2200HD biggrin.gif
Supports 1080p and 1900x1080 res but you'll need HDMI-DVI cable to hook it up. Selling RM478 at Lowyat drool.gif

Oic thanks!! notworthy.gif

Btw with the Dell S2409W 24" how does the HDMI support the audio since the monitor doesnt have speaker....without speaker then even if i insert the external speaker most likely the HD audio will fail due to the HDMI connect to the monitor....is it?  hmm.gif

and one more thing does any monitor or vga box thing able to support component cable? and is there any difference between Dell G2410 24" and Dell S2409W 24"? Thanks!!

Thanks!! notworthy.gif

But is the BenQ T2200HD  only support up to 1080p and 1900x1080 res or does the 24" dell do so too? blink.gif
*
You mean Dell S2409W? According to the spec it does support 1080p and it has HDMI connection. Costs a lil bit more than T2200HD.

Eh got lar..... it's called Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA. Normal DTS and DD give's you 5.1 while HD audio outputs 7.1. But of course you'd need a receiver with HDMI that can decode such output, optical can only give u normal DD5.1 and DTS. laugh.gif
*
So, meaning only HDMI can give 7.1 and optical only to 5.1? Or actually, it doesn't matter since it's digital anyway?

Yup only HDMI can give u 7.1 or even 5.1 HD audio as optical connection had limited bandwidth so you're stuck with only standard definition DD5.1 and DTS audio thru optical output.  tongue.gif
*
ooo... and i tot optical output was the best laugh.gif
thanks for sharing the info!

anyone use sony lcd tv T Series - KLV-19T400A/B for ps3??any prob??its price just rm1299...
*
Bro, do you need to use the TV feature? I mean, if you don't mind me suggesting, better for you to opt for a 22" or 24" LCD monitor which costs around the same or maybe less but bigger screen; some even has HD. icon_rolleyes.gif

If you have enough money go for LCD TV or plasma. Monitor produces the worse image among them all cause they are lacking off proper post processing circuit. You loss out a lot of detail pairing your PS3/X360 with monitor(albeit a bit cheaper in this kind of setup).
Monitor is only capable of producing best picture when paired with a dedicated GPU card such as Nvdia/ATI etc.
*
blink.gif really...? When you say monitor, LCD monitor? Or CRT monitor?
What kind of detail is lost when pairing PS3/X360 with a monitor? unsure.gif
I thought PS3/X360 has dedicated GPU too? aren't RSX and Xenos dedicated graphics processing unit?

You can actually check www.lowyat.net or hardwarezone's price guide online. Can give you a rough idea whats the biggest size available according to your budget.
