RM 80 for Dynames? Hm... nice deal, but luckily I am immune to 00 fever.
Virus attack coming now... http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/win...04/DSCN2265.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/win...04/DSCN2266.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/win...04/DSCN2267.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/win...04/DSCN2271.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/win...04/DSCN2272.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/win...04/DSCN2273.jpg Looks like the waist joint is quite posable The knees.. oh well, let's just pose it in a "realistic" manner instead of extravagant flying/kicking/somersault poses. QUOTE(ShinAsakura @ Dec 20 2007, 02:14 PM) poor unicorn of having a si-tu-pid knees Well the Dengeki has to buy air ticket to fly over here mah... maybe add in tax somemore that's why the price is RM40+the 1st pose will look much more better if the articulation doesn't stand in the way... both my frens goin BTS hunting for gundam today...but it seems they're too late for dynames as u all said it's out of stock. btw, dengeki hobby each 1000yen, which is about RM29.66 here...but then...y izit so exp when it reached here de? (i'm asking stupid ques LOL) http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/6888/21...pmodelerph8.jpg now now...apa ini it seems it hv a mask sinoffire: Post your pics in the mecha showoff thread ler... this thread is for Gundam discussion and news. And also please nip the sprues nicely leh... Cutting the excess plastic parts will save you a lot of time on sanding... A clean cut doesn't even need sanding, especially on the edges. Sharpen V fins please... |

Wah... apart from the crap waist skirts, there are more failures in Unicorn... The shoulder joint is fixed to the chest so that it cannot move at all. The manual shows square pegs for the shoulder joint which is fixed to a chest plate with pegs joining the white armour plates. Zero movement I suppose.
Think 1/100 Justice/Freedom... This is even worse than the crap knees. Without a movable shoulder joint, virtually no cool poses can be made. Meaning the Unicorn cannot hold its weapons with two hands while pointing the gun/bazooka forward, nor can it do a two handed samurai slash. Bandai IS FAIL. If they can give the Zeta ver2.0 such good articulations, there's no reason not to give it to the Unicorn. I'd sacrifice the transforming gimmicks for posability. Maybe it's really our destiny to jimat the 5K yen. This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Dec 21 2007, 10:09 AM |

QUOTE(zoidx_chung @ Dec 21 2007, 10:54 AM) Yup... square pegs. Although a simple sanding job and some snipping could turn those into round movable pegs, but it's the white armour that's going to obstruct once again. Meh... too much modifications required. Pffhhh... I think I'll give this Unicorn a miss (unless I really succumb to it when I see the real thing); and pray sincerely that Bandai will notice their mistake and release a revised version in the near future while keep these shortcomings in mind if they decide to release an MG Sinanju. Aunty Lenny hehe... better to give her a call before going, and also ask her on the phone whether she has stock or not to prevent wasting your petrol. Her opening hours varies from time to time and not everytime she'll have stock there. Speaking of which, I haven't been there for more than a year already... must find some time to go there and talk cock. Best thing about her shop is that she'll show you all her new stock and let you play with some OOB kits on display (not those in cabinets though hehe)... Glory System. Best service in town... QUOTE(300078 @ Dec 21 2007, 12:03 PM) oh my! The biggest unicorn fan in this thread going to give Unicorn a miss!!!! Alteisen... hehe... not a SRW fan... Too cartoony for me liao. Katoki's Huckebein looks good though, but spinning disks? I am also disappointed about its articulation and wont buy it until i finish up all my other kits! So the winner of the end of the year 2007 will be Alteisen 1/100! This kit is just too cool! Bazookas and gatlings FTW !! QUOTE(zoidx_chung @ Dec 21 2007, 03:06 PM) Walao.... finally we see something good about the Unicorn's articulation... at least the legs open much more wider than my MKII... Yet for me the shoulder and knee joints are more important than anything else.KIV... KIV... I could still get it in the future should I succumb to its charm, but not now... not worth the money. And surely the price would be jacked up. Unless the price is too good to be true hehe... like 3650yen. Char's Zaku or Zeta ver2.0 would be on my list for now... Giving the F91 a miss too due to its small size. ![]() This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Dec 22 2007, 10:50 AM |

Every year also got Bakuc ler... but it's only these few years that they decide to sell cheap kits. The one I visited in 05 (still called BAKAC then) sold kits at high prices although still cheaper than Litt Takk prices.
Zeta or Char? hehe... or just simpan my RM? |

QUOTE(Exiled_Gundam @ Dec 24 2007, 09:16 AM) For Unicorn, I think the team who design the kit maybe not the same as the usual team who design the usual MG (if i'm not mistaken, designer for MG Unicorn is Hajime Katoki, while the usual MG is BEECRAFT) I don't think the different designers is the factor that made the Unicorn suck in articulation.Crossbone ver Ka and Wing ver Ka both have great detail + articulation, same goes with RX78 ver Ka. I have decided.... If I can get a cheap Unicorn for less than RM 170 then I'll still get it, otherwise I'll wait one year hehe... Who knows, maybe by then I'll fall in love with an MG Sinanju |

Just give it some subtle shadows to emphasise the white armour... no need for extravagant colours. Come to think about it, the whole thing is white... so if no top coat is sprayed on the white pieces might slowly become yellow-stained over time... QUOTE(WaytoDawn @ Dec 25 2007, 04:36 PM) Day 1) Unicorn in-the-making: MODDING THE PAIN IN THE A$$ KNEE JOINT 180 !!! As the title suggest, This knee modding is indeed a pain in the a$$. Throught trial and error i almost ruin the whole damn knee! Luckily, It is still savable. Before modding, knee bends about 75-80 degrees. After modding, knee bends 180 degrees!! After placing on the armour parts, knee bends 120-130 degrees (Mind you, I DID mod the armour without sacrificing looks. And this is my second time trying to mod anything. So i still lack experience...) I would post pic's, but my trusty phone's battery is dead. So, maybe l8r if anyone's intrested. That is all for today! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!HOHOHO!! WAH... very advanced level of modding... I cannot do it hehe... Then again it looks real ugly when the knee is flexed all the way back as the knee armour protrudes too far outwards.
