Glad to hear it... Account open within 3 days.
Is it a must to open an account in US, or can bank in money into their account from Malaysia?
Investing in US stocks, Does anyone know how?

I'm also trying to bank in $ to them. Maybe we need to e-mail them this slip together with our account number.
Should it be like this? ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by jex-koi: May 12 2009, 10:14 AM |

QUOTE(ozak @ May 12 2009, 01:48 PM) Nope. I've not done it yet. Maybe I'll do it end of this week (hoping the USD will fall further). But anyway, I've been on the phone with Maybank and CIMB on how to TT. I've not tried it yet, but here's what I know so far. Use at your own risk. 1) Maybank (refer to my previous post) - Enter "0" into the "ID/Passport" since the company registration number isn't provided - Fill up "Fed Wire" with "ABA #". For OptionsXpress, it is "021000021" - There is NO way to send a note together with this TT. - Save TT receipt and send it to OptionsXpress email to notify them. Wait for their acknowledgement. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 2) CIMB (refer to screen shot below) - The "Routing No" should be filled with "ABA #" or "000000000" (if none). For OptionsXpress, it is "021000021" - Enter Swift Code (CHASUS33) under "Beneficiary Bank Name". - According to CIMB, we can send a message through their "Message Center" -> "Compose Messages". Under "Enquiry Categoty", select "Remittance". - Save TT receipt and send it to OptionsXpress email to notify them. Wait for their acknowledgement. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by jex-koi: May 14 2009, 02:16 PM |

I've just TT'ed money using MBB, and it works. I just e-mailed optionsXpress the receipt of my transfer, and they acknowledged that they have received it.
The only thing is that there seems to be a "charge" or some sort like that. OptionsXpress received USD21 less than what I deposited. Anyone knows how much JPMorgan charges for these kinda TT? |

I'll disagree that you'll need so much money to invest in US stocks. If you TT money (e.g. USD1000), you'll pay around USD25 for commission.
Example : If you buy 70 shares of BAC @ USD13.00, which cost USD910, you can earn a little when the share is USD14.00, which will cost USD980 at that price (assuming the commission is ~USD10) |
