Last Sunday nite 2/5/09 filled in optionXpress online application form, but wanted to change my name (as I used initials) so live chat with optionXpress people on Monday nite (2/5/09), they are really helpful and was informed that I can scan the printed application forms and email them the forms. Email them on Tuesday 5/5/09 attaching the required forms duly signed along with my IC in pdf format. This morning, checked my email and was informed that I can start trading (of course I need to transfer funds first). Just 3 days to get application approved.

Must say the Live Chat thingy is really great as I get immediate response to my queries.

I'll be going to US in August to open a bank account and I guess that will ease transfer of funds via online with them later.

Glad to hear it... Account open within 3 days.

Is it a must to open an account in US, or can bank in money into their account from Malaysia?

if you read earlier posts, you can wire transfer funds into your account from our local banks

So many newbies struggling with TT to foreign brokerages..
So.. for once and all. please stop using TT altogether if you can't make it work or if your banks just clueless on how to make it work for you.

Just send them a US bank draft via Fedex. It is not expensive and reasonably fast (within 3-4 days),
another 3-4 days for clearance.

Don't wait till last minute to do this if you want to trade immediately.

Again, one more time: Don't use TT anymore.. give it up!

Just traditional Bank Draft and send to them. It works!!!  nod.gif

What you mentioned/advise above make sense. The cost to sent bank draft would be about the same if we were to TT. Fedex collects documents from my house and the fees is about RM75-RM80 depending on currency exchage rate on that day.
