My Q for 300 LVS shorts 18.60 didn't get hit.. oh well lowering to 18.50.
This morning pullback are just the small caps stocks. The real estates and financials are doing well. Energy sector is flat. The pullback attracted some dip buyers on the side. We shall see if bulls can hang on. This post has been edited by danmooncake: Nov 19 2009, 12:03 AM |

Guys, in the process of upgrading my account (Etrade) to have margin facility (to be able to short shares). Minimum requirement for initial margin is $2000. Is the current equities held in my account (my cash holdings is only around $500) counted in this case or must I add more cash for me start shorting shares?

It certainly looks like the bulls strength are weakening these past 3 trading days. We can hardly go above S&P 1110, hovering around this area only. Still, we don't have enough bad news to cause a major sell off yet. I think it will come soon.
But,.. a bit of good news for BAC: http://www.economy-news.co.uk/bank-of-amer...ation-1811.html Therefore, some of you may want to buy some during this dip (if it does) for BAC during the weakening of the major indices. C may be riding on BAC strength today. Update @ Closing 5:24am Dow 10426.31 -11.11 -0.11% Nasdaq 2193.14 -10.64 -0.48% S&P 500 1109.80 -0.52 -0.05% Dip buyers came in at last hour to buy back.. almost flat. This pullback didn't work well for bears. But, it is good to see C got some strength today, riding along BAC even on down days. C may start re-testing 4.40 barrier soon. For LVS, bears won. Came back down to 17.x from highs of 18.50. Congrats to you if you were able to sell above 18. This post has been edited by danmooncake: Nov 19 2009, 05:31 AM |

opinion wise, it looks confusing, how come market so resilient with the bad news?
momo expecting / sensing sumting better ahead? but to do tat, a heavy pullback is required (then can short lvs & wintercampers to longkang new high failure - vprt swing trade failure - gok, aro, acmr, swing trade watching - pl, icon, ire, atpg, ocn, stec waiting pullback for pyramiding while riding new high - nflx, iag, amzn, med case study to make traders tire & exit position - spar (base on experience with tis type, after i sell, they go up imo, if u r gambling cheap options with expiry tis friday market makers will drop stock, if too many call buyers & will up stock, if too many put buyers sometimes, stock no move, then call & put buyers mati bersama-sama, haha... tat y i prefer longer expiry date means nex week, i expect some real movement opinionwise, it would be nice to hav a correction... then use buffet method buy maxis FA lovers, is maxis under / over value? seen the thread, but nothing on tis value thingy yet anyway for now, market is alwiz right, so no choice darn, i need to read louyah analyst report again... Stocks slipped Wednesday, dealing a setback to the market's renewed uptrend. The indexes reached their session highs within the first 15 minutes of trading and then remained on the downside the rest of the day. A weaker-than-expected housing report rattled the market. Declining issues led gainers by a 3-to-2 ratio on the Nasdaq and by 5-to-4 on the NYSE. The market, however, remains in an uptrend, and a strong finish lessened the sting of Wednesday's losses somewhat. All four major indexes finished in the upper third or better of the day's ranges. There's also been some encouraging action among leading stocks in this fledgling uptrend. A number of breakouts among highly rated stocks appear to be working. The uptrend that began on Nov. 2 — and confirmed as such with a follow-through day on Nov. 9 — has yielded about 10 noteworthy breakouts so far. They include gold miners Iamgold (IAG) and Barrick Gold (ABX), up 22% and 8%, respectively, from their buy points; advertising services firm DG FastChannel (DGIT), up 17%; China-based banking software provider Longtop Financial Technologies (LFT), up 5%; fertilizer company China Green Agriculture (CGA), up 14%; and China-based heat-recycling products maker SmartHeat (HEAT), up 7%. China Green Agriculture and SmartHeat broke out Wednesday as Chinese stocks stood out. Another plus is the Baltic Dry Index. An indicator for the world economy, it measures shipping demand vs. the supply of carriers. It recently pegged a 52-week high. This post has been edited by sulifeisgreat: Nov 19 2009, 10:54 AM |

My first cash withdrawal from my SOGOTRADE account went smoothly. So for those who still skeptical about SOGOTRADE, you can leave your worry aside.

QUOTE(zamans98 @ Nov 19 2009, 10:00 AM) LVS downhill. Nice, now move to $16 quickly. Wanted to average down my ETFC but ran outta bullets.S running wild. While holding, its not moving. Now throw, it moved. (LONG at 3.43, STOP at 3.5), now moving near $4. ETFC moving, hope will breach 2.00$ On another note, here's some news on ETFC and it probably explains why it went up yesterday: QUOTE E*Trade Takeover Chatter: How Should an Investor Respond? Now that the E*Trade (ETFC) acquisition chatter has officially started, I have a few thoughts on the matter 1) The next major catalyst for ETFC is choosing a new CEO. This is one of the hottest jobs on Wall Street and should be in high demand. Whoever comes in will have free rein to get a deal done. There isn’t anyone left at E*Trade who cares about the company’s history or who desperately wants it to remain as a stand alone. Current E*Trade management appears to welcome a takeover. If E*Trade brings in a CEO with experience in coordinating mergers and acquisitions that will be a very good sign. This really is a blockbuster opportunity for a CEO to sign on, get a chunk of stock options, and exit with $20 million worth of gains 6 months from now. 2) I still don’t think TD Ameritrade (AMTD) is the ideal takeover. Because of the mortgage mess on E*Trade’s books, I see a larger bank being more suited to E*Trade. Someone like Wells Fargo (WFC) or JP Morgan Chase (JPM) or even a regional bank that wants to make a splash in the brokerage business would be a tremendous fit. As a Wells Fargo customer myself, I would be ecstatic to see the E*Trade platform become part of the service. 3) Don’t let the mortgage mess fool you. The E*Trade platform is highly sought after. As one who has used TD and Schwab (SCHW), the E*Trade user experience is a breath of fresh air. E*Trade is a major player in a quality industry. So what happens next? The acquisition chatter will heat up, then it will stall as these things typically do. The key for the new CEO will be to try and get more than one bidder. Who knows, maybe even Citadel will join the bidding process to try and push the price up although recent comments from the hedge fund indicate they are looking to diversify away from large positions in single companies. Investors need to be patient, have a good time horizon, and let the game come to you. Option LEAPS alert: The November www.economictiming.com newsletter recommended owning the January 2011 $5 calls. This is a very high risk/high reward position. For those looking for something more secure, look to own the stock itself, or the January 2011 $2.5 strike, or even the April 2010 $1.50 strike. All represent great opportunities as we head into the new year. |

nyum nyum... look at futures - izit for real? then, cheaper maxis, here i come
also, soon its time to pay a visit to longkang? wonder who could be the lucky candidates i need confirmation... if ever Mr Bear come pay us a vist, i would like present a case study on 'assumed trading behaviour', it exist or not? then, its a game of chicken if no Mr Bear, no maxis case study the brave ayam will hold it for dunno how long, no matter how low it goes, i guess they show no fear at all the speculative ayam would have cut loss, coz dunno they use own money, credit card, ah long or etc to buy maxis & attempt t+3 contra the contra ayam, sure mati the smart ayam will use this opportunity to collect as many as possible, but they 'momo' got almost unlimited peluru & they have patience to wait ....waiting to update my above teori This post has been edited by sulifeisgreat: Nov 19 2009, 10:06 PM |
