I've heard of a W, U and V shaped recovery but this is the first time I've heard of a square root one. laugh.gif

noted some of the posters replies & since there r lurkers around, we'll do wat we can to keep it alive along with the old timer & regular sifus  hmm.gif

u might consider medium term investing too
well, hope u all dun get stuck in reading books or virtual trade forever
coz the thread needs a two way traffic for it to be alive & not remain in icu  whistling.gif
the only way to learn, is to put down cold real hard cash, then suddenly all ur virtual trading style & books theory fly out the window
ur emotions will take over. a 10 sen drop wil make u sweat. fear & greed is now ur new frens every time u see the stock or sleeping at night
make sure the capital r ur savings that u r willing to let it all burnt...haha
the day when u can take emotions out of trading, is a day that u learn something new
have fun  sweat.gif

anyway, just swing traded bcrx & cksw, since no idea whther it can go higher or not? i took my profit & run liao

can u all see the set up of the chart & y it could be swing traded? understand its a bit difficult  rclxub.gif
but after u have run thru thousand of charts & traded some of them, u would be to feel a swing trade or breakout
by combining techincal & fundamental analysis, with ur personal analisis
ur success or failure would depend very much on the self performance & effort u r willing to put in  blink.gif
of coz u might go around hitting walls, so thats y the internet is around for us to share & exchange knowledge

Imo the 50 and 200 is too slow. Its more like whether or not the market is bullish or otherwise. the 10 and 30 days is more useful if you're looking at a shorter timeframe of say a few days.

agree, so how u use it & wat u wan to use depends on wat u r looking for
but my portfolio includes short, medium & long term stocks/ etf
for me, i see from overall picture, then i drill deeper down into individual stocks
everyone has diff opinion, as long as wateva makes $$$, its fine  thumbup.gif

Very true. All the TA in the world won't help if someone suddenly decides to downgrade a certain bank stock. whistling.gif

The market seems to be quite ambivalent today thanks to the rise in jobless claims.

Seems like the rally may be slowing down despite the solid earnings over the past weeks.

i got x1000 @ 170. Hope for the good result tomorrow. Hope it shoot to 1.80-1.85.

what your average price for ETFC?

C is dying, following BAC.

1.75. Yeah, I'm waiting for tomorrow's results as well but I'm aiming for it to shoot past 2.
Its a lofty target but heck, it doesn't hurt to hope. icon_rolleyes.gif

Haha yeah but my biggest worry is that this could be the beginning of a crash rather than a dip buying opportunity.

i just simply buy..

if it is crash, we have hold years.. wink.gif

i guess tonight everyone is blue, since we all hold some shares..

let wait for magic..

So much for a V shaped recovery. The square root recovery seems quite likely now.

Just curious, if someone were to short CIT at 70 cents a few days back, what would they be getting? Nothing or the whole 70 cents?

When you're making money it gives you a buzz but when you see your stocks going down the drain and averaging down is nearly impossible unless you've got a margin account or have bottomless pockets. tongue.gif

i would suggest u follow dmc advise to sell
& take wateva capital u can
imo, the stock drop could be at level u hav never experience via klse b4 (say 50%?)
but, i no idea wat happen later, its up to u (refer ur own risk management level & cut loss price)

if i m u, i wil reuse tat capital to buy the dip after its oversold, jmo  blink.gif

I'm still thinking it over. I'm still making money from my C but I'm not sure how deep this selldown might last and I definitely don't want to be holding it if the market tanks by 50%.
Dammit, where's a crystal ball when you need it?
