I need help with my mobo MSI K9N Neo V3. Spec 4 the rig :

- AM2 4400+ Brisbane w/stock HSF
- MSI K9N Neo V3 w/Nforce 560
- 2x Kingston DDR2 1gb 533mhz

Problem is no matter what i did, i can never set fsb more than 205. Max is at 205. I try reduce multiplier, or reduce ram divider making it run on 400, reduce HTT to 400 and lower, also cannot. Tried b4 increase vcore to 1.3v, also no luck. Btw, temp is at 35'c idle and 40+ load. Tried swapping ram with ddr2 667 also no luck. If i oc fsb above 205, pc wont start end up i have to reset bios. Hoped any pro amd overclockers here can help me.

3. What your stock Vcore??

-pWs-

1. yes, got the latest bios edi. flashed to 1.4
2. DIIM1 & 2 n dual channel active (yes, nearest to cpu)
3. Stock vcore is 1.25v

additional info :

Stock Multiplier is 11.5x
Stock FSB is 200.5

try to oc with single ram..

have tried b4 using single 1gb ddr2 667, still no luck. kinda suspect mobo is limiting me from oc. i can't oc via multiplier since in bios max multiplier is 11.5x..

when  change to 400, u play timing or not??
*
at 1st tried using auto. then manually change. tried b4 setting to default value according to ram, also cant. 4 testing, i even try using the high CL also cant get fsb above 205mhz.

Try other multiplier?? 11?? or 10??
Oh I see. My bad  doh.gif  doh.gif

tried b4, n i have try testing using on 5x also cant get fsb above 205mhz. just wanna ask, is my mobo limiting it or simply got problem somewhere ?

my suspect is on these :

- cpu problem.
- mobo problem
- PCI-E freq problem

as i mentioned b4, i have tried higher CL 4 testing b4, n set everything to a high value b4 4 testing. still no go, so now i set back to default value. but i seriously doubt problem came from timing setting. from my experience timing setting affects system stability, n doesnt affect untill cannot on pc and have to reset bios. (unless set to a lower value 4 faster)

just wanna ask, if i increase FSB, pcie bus will increase right ? i dont see any option in my bios to limit the speed of pcix bus.

I just browse through the manual from MSI for your motherboard.
As I see from the manual, your PCI-E Fre already default @ 100MHz.

I think should be your ram problem. You use CAS 4 all the time??
Loose the ram timing as xixo_12 told you to.

If necessary, add some Vdimm. hmm.gif

i used cl5 b4, but still cant oc above 205mhz. but maybe incorrect timing on others. later i will try the timing suggested by xixo_12....
