F3 is the real gem for AMD lor...G1 is another testing proc by amd i guess. the G2 is better..AMDŽ Socket-AM2/AM2+ Overclocking thread (V4), Cockcroach AMD :P

QUOTE(cyberloner @ Dec 22 2007, 08:45 PM) my cpu cannot gain any stability over 3.4.... any other push will prime fail... maybe its time to go for watercooling?? following AoiNatsume steps??cannot boot to 3.5 but pc also shut down.... must be heatsink cannot tahan sudden peak of temp... i think b1 and b2 is da same cpu... only b2 can clock higher only... the cpu cache latency for both is same speed.... i thought got improvement for the later proc?? inaccurated temp readings solved?? |

QUOTE(cyberloner @ Dec 22 2007, 09:32 PM) wait i rich 1st hehe... no doubt G2 got better clockspeed than G1. but without proper temp reading, make me feels worried all the time..black edition temp reading is also wrong from what i know =X but someone manage to clock it to 3.4 ... i dunno that is stable clock or not =X can using old timer method, by touching the heatsink. but for me its kinda hassle... QUOTE(lohwenli @ Dec 22 2007, 09:42 PM) Dunno about temp, but the power consumption is power consumption for G2 sure lower. yeah, due to longer latency (correct me if i'm wrong), have to oc it 0.1ghz higher to match windsor...When both are at 3Ghz, a Brisbane G2 takes about half the power of a Windsor (less than 80W). Use stock heatsink also can overclock quite high for G2. Only one downside, must overclock 0.1Ghz more than Windsor to match Windsor's performance. |

QUOTE(cyberloner @ Dec 22 2007, 10:37 PM) the latency is more giving it to clock more higher.... my statement b4 correct what..i mean the diff performance between the brisbane and windsor is caused by the latency.have to clock 0.1ghz higher for brisbane.same as ram latency... u may see why ddr3 latency so high with higher mhz... it is due to 65nm technologies... more smaller capacitor less heat... with smaller caps, does that means more caps can be stuffed inside the die?? means the size smaller, but the total caps used increased?? |

sorry to say, IMHO Asus M2A-VM still not a good ocing mobo. why dont u buy biostar or abit mobo?? however, for ur proc (6000+), going 3.4ghz is considered good already...

QUOTE(omara86 @ Dec 23 2007, 11:28 AM) really aaa... nvm then~ change my mission... from changing a good mobo, become changing to a 4 ram slots mobo... :~( using more ram slot will burden the memory controller on ur board, hence will decrease ur ocability a bit...well... ram running on dual channel or single channel or dual + single (3 x 1GB).. does it hav any effect to OC result? |

QUOTE(dblooi @ Dec 23 2007, 08:52 PM) i'm sure bro -pws- is doing his job well nice metaphore there...i like it.. those results with pi 1M will not be added into database wow, looking for a debate? your question is simple to answer let's take an example, you watch F1 racing? one of the hottest race on earth. But don't you think it's stupid? create such fast and mighty beast but cannot use it for daily life But yet so many people love it, why? Because those F1 drivers enjoy the game and people enjoy watching. extreme overclock is more or less the same thing mostly ocer will try their best to achieve best score in benchmark. however, for daily usage, with such high vcore, vdimm etc2, pumped, not good for ur hardware healths... lifespan would reduced lo... |
