ya, i believe another 4 to 5C more.. Maybe you may try to orthos for 1 to 2 hours see stable at that setting or not...

The highest i tried is about 366htt.. this is just to tried tachlio setting which use the 9x multiplier... I do believe this board got more to offer also wait another sifu to come laaa mr ongbs Trial on 400HTT, not finetune yet.... With air cooling, vcore 1.61v , clock speed 3.7GHz and temperature 60C Failed to boot into windows With Iced water cooling, it works (exactly same settings, temp 17C) After the ice melted , temp raise a bit to 30C, same thing happen again, fail to boot into windows though the temp is only 30C This post has been edited by ongbs: Jan 1 2008, 07:14 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(dj.eRicZzz @ Jan 1 2008, 04:49 PM) yalor, stuck with 3M thermal tape once Vcore >1.5V the PWM include those caps shoot up >80C If running long hours sure the mobo will kong very soon (those were not solid caps bro)! If I put a 120mm fans on top, PWM + caps easily will drop 20C Last time using CM Germin II with 2x120mm fans mobo temp not that serious.... If using WC I will put a fan on top of PWM side, no $$$ to change mobo liau |

QUOTE(dblooi @ Jan 1 2008, 02:01 PM) nothing serious lah bro, actually I tried 412HTTx8.5=3510MHz, can run memtest and boot into Vista safe mode.Normal mode Vista crash....CPU temp too high@1.6V Later will try WC. I believe many mid-end mobo can do >400HTT nowadays |

QUOTE(lohwenli @ Jan 1 2008, 06:17 PM) I think you mean the Power MOSFETS..its not possible to heatsink capacitors.. he is right...I put heatsinks on both MOSFETs and CAPs as well And if you put enough current through them that they need heatsinks, even solid state caps will arc & blow up.. On top of CAPs the metal casing expose right? I just stick Heatsinks with thermal tape on it..... Make sure to use better quality thermal tape as we dun want the HS drop halfway and short the mobo |

QUOTE(lohwenli @ Jan 1 2008, 07:08 PM) Close to useless putting HS on top of caps..too little contact area to make much difference.. May be u are right but since I got many extra HS I still prefer to stick it on the CAPs too Anyway, PWMs produce less than 40W heat even with 200W processors, a small medium speed fan blowing on them is enough already. Without fan and HS I can't even touch my hand on top of those caps for 10sec if OC kaw2 + full load (should be >65C). Now with HS attached and fan blowing, I can leave my hand on top of caps as long as I want even full load (below 55C). While, the caps won't spoilt overnight even running >65C. If my memory serves me right, I read some articles stated that the lifespan of Electrolyte CAPs will drop 10-20% with every increase of about 10 to 20C. Even later I change mobo with Solid CAPs, I will do this as well as cooling mod is one of my interest, just like OC Love to do some simple mods to bring down heats whenever possible Those high temp on CAP i think is the heats generated by PWM and transfer to CAPs via PCB/ convection. QUOTE(AoiNatsume @ Jan 2 2008, 04:46 AM) currently in a very very very very disappointed mood. pity bro Bought my MSI K9A2 today, just finish got everything up and running and even lapped my F3 and planning to push my proc further where my previous board limits me. As usual, most of us sick overclockers here, the first thing you do when u boot up will be hitting the "del" key, i was no exception. Was happy to see LOTS of overclocking setting, but... wtf the max vcore is only 1.48!!! Crap, if they dont release any new bios to improve this, ill be dammed. RM5xx mobo only to get max 1.4v.... Aiyo, only 1.48Vcore max ah? Why u never check the BIOS setting before buying this mobo huh? |

QUOTE(-pWs- @ Jan 2 2008, 01:39 PM) sorry bro pws, me just free to online now will attach my screeny soon ... Added on January 3, 2008, 12:41 am QUOTE(CV6149 @ Jan 2 2008, 02:28 PM) for your case I think shud not be a problem.Since the heatsink fan does circulate the air around. PWS, Add 1 more fan 12cm for exhaust la bro...For wc guy, shud have some prob with it since no fan to give some air to pwm.... buy the small2 heatsink from Lelaman(cheap) in sales and use it on ur pwm. seems like bro CV aldy answered yr question ya, if using WC becareful on the PWM side, especially when running orthos. If my memory serve me right, u told me b4 u RMA yr mobo twicw due to Orthos right? My DFI rig was busy running Orthos@ 3.4G, 1.575Vcore for whole afternoon... refer CPU-Z for my setting....will let u know why I added the heatsinks Pls refer to your mobo pic, I highlighted the PWM MOSFET where I attached my digital thermal probe. I am running WC, with my setting as shows by CPU-Z. (Ambient temp around 26C in air-cond room, my rig is put outside of casing, ventilation is better than opened case) All my PWM MOSFETs got small copper heatsinks on it, without top 120mm fan running, the Idling temp around 50C+. Once running orthos, around 10 mins later the MOSFETs temp will shoot up >90C. Keep in mind that PCB is quite good at heat transfer (due to the copper trace, especially on the packed PWM side, thicker trace found due to high current load) Those 90C+ heat will transfer to surrounding components (mostly via convection I believe), so think by yourself what is the CAPs temp look like? At this time those heatsinks I stuck on top of CAPs, temp >65C cos I can't even rest my hand on it >10 sec!!! Well, I think it is time to turn on my 120mm fans on top of PWM circuit.... Within 1 min my temp measuring point drop to <60C Those heatsinks on top of CAPs <40C. So conclusion is I will never run orthos test >1hr without extra cooling Although those electrolyte CAPs are designed to stand around 100C, judge your self will the lifespan of mobo drop without extra cooling? Heatsinks might not be necessary but extra fan to me is a MUST when running Orthos >1hr. Hmm...time to stop my Orthos now and check how is the temp look like After 2 mins the temp measured below 40C with the 120mm fan running I treated my mobo nicely with extra cooling since Socket A platform and me used > 4 mobos for the last 5 yrs (3 mobo were Abit NF7-S V2.0). 2 of the NF7 kong due to stupid lighting kissed my mobo via LAN/ phone line. The other mobos still working till recently I sold it off) OK, time to surf Garage Sales..... This post has been edited by ongbs: Jan 3 2008, 01:41 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(AoiNatsume @ Jan 3 2008, 02:04 PM) its a D2 800mhz, havent really push it yet, after some quick test it is still unable to beat my old 10th anniversary. Wah bro, u changing hardware again ah? Damx kaya lah u So far, its running on the same settings as my crucial on a 24/7 clock (1066mhz/2.2v/5-5-5-15) My new 3870 should be arriving today, next month upgrade would be phenom. Damm cant wait !! btw, ive sold my tracers, will cod with another forumer here today for OCZ Reaper HPC edition. Yr WC really kick ass My 400L/hr pump just limit OC performance, 3.4GHz@1.6V, 61C Orthos temp read by Coretemp |

Even with same WC, OC results will be different depend on mobo use...thinking wanna try water ler... =.= With previous Abit AN9 32X I reached 3.56GHz stable but so far tested 3.4GHz stable with DFI mobo My DFI not that "user friendly" when come to OC....need a lot of tweaking, time consuming |

QUOTE(apengfx- @ Jan 4 2008, 09:37 AM) still in burning process..but the cpu temp reading is very high bro,..maybe there are some error in the tempreture reading ..because if touch the HSF..is not that hot..the chipset is wa more hot that the CPU cooler. ![]() can you try CoreTemp for your setting? As all our DFI Ultra2 M2 mobo tend to get lower temp reading (7C to 9C) in Smart Guardian than CoreTemp.... If your DFI mobo in the same case then yr proc temp >75C liau This post has been edited by ongbs: Jan 5 2008, 11:53 AM |

Mine is stuck at the same speed the processor is. How to up this? I'm using MSI K9A Platinum mobo. [attachmentid=373094][attachmentid=373095] Attached thumbnail(s) |
