I think he's busy setting his mobo. laugh.gif
Bro db,to get the mobo,no need to wait for the better revision rite??
*
better rev? hmm.gif
the material used on this mobo is good enough to me adi
b4 it launches , i googled for the pic
found that it has only 3 mosfet at each phase of PWM
Attached Image

and this is what i get here , 4 mosfet~ drool.gif
Attached Image
If you try to google for TA770 pic , you can see 1R0M choke only
but take a look at this PWM , surprisingly it's R60 which i believe that it is better PWM choke than 1R0M brows.gif
( Need to download datasheet and compare the spec if really wanna find out laugh.gif )

edited: random pic get from google search for comparison icon_rolleyes.gif
this is 1R0M choke on TA770 in other country

Does it mean all the TA770 comes with the same revision?? i mean no "lucky TA770' tongue.gif

Well,i dont really want to google for the board pictures as it makes me disappointed because no built-in VGA. laugh.gif

Thanx for the pictures db.
*
that one i'm not sure hmm.gif

Experience sharing here. When i was using TF7050 and TA690G, both mobo are using these 1R0M chokes. When vcore add to 1.55v above, the chokes will start making noise. Yesterday i tried to add 1.55vcore on this TA770 with R60 chokes ... so far didn't hear any noise yet laugh.gif
maybe it is still new? hmm.gif or maybe it is better brows.gif

Will try higher vcore later and i believe that the temperature is much lower for this R60 chokes when oc . Will find it out tonight icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi db can u check for me for your northbridge temp ? Mine shown tat 52 celcius. It rather high.Help me check out thanks !
*
i believe that the one that you referring is not northbridge temp.
i use my hand to touch the tiny HS for NB, didn't feel warm also .
you are looking at system temperature is it?
that one should be the surrounding temperature.
what kinda casing that you are using ?
Looks like air ventilation not good enough to me laugh.gif

what bout if u set it to auto instead of manually assign the cpu multi? this happened to me even on ta690g with latest bios. the diff is i only got 9.5x multi in d list, but when i set it to auto, cpu-z detected d speed correctly...  smile.gif
*
tried bro ah_khoo's suggestion just now
instead of set the cpu multiplier manually , i leave it as 'auto'
problem solved, no more auto jump to 9.5 multiplier rclxm9.gif

hehe bro DJericzzz,
are you sure you don't wanna warming up 1st b4 get into hardcore? brows.gif

currently i'm trying to find a suitable oc software for this mobo.
AMD overdrive 2.14 beta , setfsb 2.0.b.19a , clockgen 1.0.5.3 and Biostar oc tool II all tested
cannot work sad.gif

p/s: the clock generator for this TA770 A+ is ICS 9LPRS477BKL

This is bad, means that this mobo cannot use to oc for validation for now sad.gif
will try one more time again later

QUOTE(dreaming @ Jan 17 2008, 11:17 PM)
bro db,
ur highest oc is 3.7ghz right?
this board can bring ur proc beyond previos level or not?  brows.gif
*
My highest stable oc is 3.8GHz laugh.gif
unstable one , 3.99GHz brows.gif

hmm... actually i have my own way to define a good overclock mobo
a good oc mobo to me must meet these requirements:

1) HTT/ HT link highly overclockable
2) 'More than enough' for Vcore & Vdimm options
3) Those important ram timings & sub-timings must be available
4) bug-free bios ( things like TF6100-am2 cannot use 667 divider consider as bios bug)
5) OC Software such as clockgen or setfsb supported. This is important for validation
(actually not true to say like that , suppose it should be the software support that particular hardware. But i assume that u guys get what i mean here icon_rolleyes.gif )
6) CMOS reload function must be available. This function is extremely useful when come to extreme overclocking
7) Maybe there are more but i cannot recall it now, will add in when i remember laugh.gif

For TA690G & TA770 comparison,

TA690G Pros

1) Powerful bios boot up ( Dunno how to explain this laugh.gif , what i meant is after set 400HTT in bios still bootable)
2) HT link is very overclockable
3) clockgen supported ( however, you need to know how to setup properly)
4) Suitable for extreme overclocking

Cons
1) Not enough vdimm? laugh.gif ( i know 2.6vdimm actually is quite high already laugh.gif )
2) Driver for the chipset and integrated gc are kinda unstable to me, need proper installation
3) Voltage drop ( For vcore actually i think it's good, can save electricity mar laugh.gif )

TA770 Pros
1) Enriched with PCIE 2.0 , HT5.2 , ESATA ...blar blar blar
2) max vdimm 2.9v drool.gif ( But i still dare to not use that high tongue.gif )
3) Endless HT Link oc brows.gif
4) No voltage drop drool.gif

Cons
1) Currently no oc software supported sad.gif ( Will test everything again one last time for 100% confirmation )
2) Buggy bios need to be fixed ( Gambateh, biostar bios programmer laugh.gif )
3) The HTT is not so overclockable for my 1st trial on it ( Stucked at 380HTT. Not sure why. Will verify it again some other day. Temporarily add this to cons 1st laugh.gif )

For time being, i would say that TA690G is better overclocker.
Let's see after bios update in near future, TA770 can become a fierce beast or not laugh.gif

Mind to comment on the oc result here:

dblooi: Bro this is the F3 that i got from u. Should i push the mem speed higher with tighter timing 1st or try to push the proc higher ? Also need to know what is the max vcore to be tried b4 it gets too dangerous ? I'm using air cooling, TT V1. The fan can turn off by itself leh. But the temp for stock vcore is still within 30C+.
*
should push the proc 1st icon_rolleyes.gif
why not use 10x multiplier? laugh.gif
for air cooling, try not pump more than 1.55v
turn off itself? shocking.gif
that's dangerous bro sweat.gif

dblooi: I tried x10 multi but it'll not able to boot up. only x9 can boot nicely. I'll try around 1.5V and c how's the temp this weekend. If use chilled water cooling, can go up how high for vcore ? I think the fan turn off by itself bcoz of my aircond room. Coz in the noon the fan run full speed, had to use the controller to reduce the noise. But in normal 30c room temp, the 2 cores from everest and coretemp readings, it can reach 40C for idle at the moment for the setup. I don't have orthos yet, so dunno whether how high it'll be.

-pws- : bro, if i got super pi 32m result with the screen shot then can put my result in the 1st post ah ? hehe laugh.gif
*
chilled water, you can try 1.7v.
that's max vcore that works for chilled water..
add more won't help
and don't forget to monitor the temp all the time icon_rolleyes.gif
you are using ABIT nview mobo rite?
kinda weird to see that 10x multi couldn't be used
IIANM bro lohwenli also using the same mobo,
i think he don't have this problem notworthy.gif
