QUOTE(chinkw1 @ Dec 21 2007, 10:18 AM) 3 primary reasons: 1. Substantial shareholding dumping. -> MOF 2. Post a slight below expectation result recent Q. 3. Dry bulk shipping rate is dropping after hit historical high, nevertheless still at highly profitable level at this moment. There is a index to show the dry bulk shipping rate across the world, which can be a good indicator how well will the Maybulk financial result is. Just like CPO with plantation stock. Forget where can get it, may be will find it out latter when got some free time. |

Baltic dry index
Here is something I found from Google. BDI is on a down trend at the moment, but still it is quite high and not really plunging. |

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Dec 21 2007, 10:50 AM) Well think of it this way, short term when you sell something in bulk, and they aren't many buyers in queue, prices tend to drop as you're selling not to the highest bidder but to whomever is bidding. But when the selling stops or when it isn't profitable to sell anymore, and the queue is still there, thats when the price will stabilise again to what buyers are willing to pay for. |

QUOTE(Kinitos @ Dec 21 2007, 02:09 PM) a good time to buy? in last 30mins before morning close 8 trades totalling 740lots sell down @$4.36 So low, atmost 3 months low still want to sell ah? 740 lots is like 74k shares. Not a lot in 30 minutes, and according to time and sales report it's all different transactions. Unless the time and sales report I'm looking at is wrong. I'm more worried when I see 1000 lots(100k share) or more trading in 1 transaction, that is the big players trading. maybe got something we dun know yet? Today quite a few big lots sold down, probably the substantial shareholder dumping more stock. This post has been edited by skiddtrader: Dec 21 2007, 02:27 PM |

QUOTE(Kinitos @ Dec 21 2007, 02:42 PM) From 21:27 to 12:29, its 740 x 100, betul kah? A lot of people are making fat profit from this counter. If last year, their cost should be around Rm2-3 only, why they can't sell at 4.36, still represent a significant profit for them. Substantial shareholders generally hold their shares for years, not months.when they buy the shares to enable them to sell at $4.36, last year kah? |

QUOTE(Kinitos @ Dec 21 2007, 02:42 PM) From 21:27 to 12:29, its 740 x 100, betul kah? Yes it's 12:27 to 12:29, 8 transactions varying from 10 lots to 200 lots. when they buy the shares to enable them to sell at $4.36, last year kah? I believe prices were below RM4.00 in August 07 with a 1 day drop to RM3.00 once as well during a mini crash. Prices only went above RM4.00 and stablise in early September. |

QUOTE(low yat 82 @ Dec 21 2007, 10:22 PM) It looks slicker than my OSK188 one. Anyway back on topic, looking at the counter news, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia which is wholly owned by Ministry of Finance currently holds 18.39% stake in Maybulk. Do you guys think they might sell down to 18%? I read somewhere also that Bank Pembangunan will be de-merging with one of its units, not so sure if it is just rumours or not. |
