I bought mine from Gamers Hideout at Cineleisure Damansara.

If I buy anything from Play Asia, I will choose UPS/Fedex. Cause I can track my delivery.

I order thing from Play-Asia using FedEx ... the night (Tue) I place order ... they ship it next day (Wed) ... then I receive my item on morning (Fri)

likewise I order thing from another online merchant (HK) using UPS ... place order at night (Tue) ... receive it on morning (Fri)

so using UPS/FedEx courier service definitely is fast and secure

Just now I can't access to it also ... I want to place orders for CNY

They don't want to do business meh ...

really ... great

Evening I just placed order from PA using FedEx ... may be tomorrow or Sunday I will place another order from PA

I ordered 2 games (less than RM500) from PA using FedEx ... today morning reached Malaysia ... FedEx called me I kena tax RM111.85 ... I was shocked ... but no choice just pay loh

Now they delivering it to my office ...

I worry about my next shipment from PA ... that one is more than RM500

anyone can guide me how the tax works ... RM500 inclusive courier charge or not ?

example: items cost RM480, courier charge RM50 ... kena tax or not ?

Insurance = RM4.78
Freight = RM50.00
FOB Value = RM477.84

Video Game
Item 1 - Customs Rate 10% + S/Tax 10%
Item 2 - Customs Rate 10% + S/Tax 10%

the computer printout is Customs Rate 5% but the Agent used pen to cancel it and write 10% ... and I also kena Sales Tax

Total tax = RM111.85

I dunno how the Senior Customs Agent (Mohd Roslan B. Mohd Abu Kassim) calculate ... no matter how I calculate I could not get that amount ... the tax should be RM106.50

I kena bully this time

I think CNY near the corner ... so Customs Agent just simply tax us

I ask my friend call to Customs to find out how I kena tax so much ... hopefully can get the answer

this is 1st time I kena tax ... my friend said the person just simply tax people

I had another 2 shipments with PA ... one more than 500 ... the other less than 500 ... both inclusive FedEx

see which one I kena tax ...

I will place a new order soon ... see I kena tax again




@terencetoo, using FedEx is definitely better than FOC ... if your shipment missing ... you will cry father cry mother later on

I had placed order from PA and other HK merchants previously ... never kena tax

I received another shipment from PA yesterday morning. I ordered 2 games below RM500 inclusive courier charges. No tax at all.

So the answer is ...

1. below RM500 inclusive FedEx = no tax

2. above RM500 inclusive FedEx = tax 20% (10%+10%)

if you are using FOC service ... then nothing you can do ... just wait

if you are using UPS or FedEx ... you can track your shipment and definitely secure ... but you have to pay extra charges for courier service

for me I always using FedEx ... I don't mind to pay extra ... cause I want my delivery fast and secure

today I placed a new order with PA ... now smart ... below RM500 inclusive FedEx

yeah ... I always buy PS3 games and accessories from PA ... either cheaper than or similar with local sellers ... but I always use coupon to get discounts

Everytime I purchase from PA, they will give one 1 coupon together with the shipment ... so I can use it for next purchase

don't worry ... based on my experience ... Video Games and Accessories not above RM500 inclusive courier charges ... no tax at all

Same to me last week. I ordered 2 games from PA on 1st February. Both games indicated 5-15 days availability. And I selected FedEx.

On the same day, they shipped 1 game immediately using FedEx (I think they got stock at that moment) and the game reached me on next day.

The other game still in pending list. I checked the status and it indicated using FedEx as well.

So I do not know whether my 2nd game will ship by FedEx or not.

Anyway, I will check with them later.
