Was wondering anyone can help?

When I try to connect to other windows system, it will return blank in 'Finder' application.

When I ping other host for e.g. ping abc thru the terminal application, it will ping some unknown ip address.

Do U know what is going on?

Thanks in advance.

I Mean if I want to copy files from Windows XP system from my MAC. When I use Finder application to search for my Windows XP address, normally I use IP address because DNS or pcname does not work. It use to work before.

do you mean LAN or Wireless LAN?

Well, i use SMB. You go to connect to server under Finder>Go, then you type smb://<your window xp ip address>

It works for me wink.gif Btw, you require to type your winxp username and password

Sorry, I don't know how much I can help. However, this statement alone tell me that, your Mac network is hay-wired.

When I ping other host for e.g. ping abc thru the terminal application, it will ping some unknown ip address.

If your Mac is properly set up, it will not ping "unknown" or "Funny" IP Address. If it is properly set up, it either manage to ping the IP, OR, Ping Request Time Out.
