Tournament Overview

The Piala Kotak Jingga Melee Tournament (Orange Box Cup) is a tournament designed to bring out the most fun out of some of the less used parts of the Team Fortress 2 experience; Melee Combat at its best. Participants will combat for glory, reputation, and the title of LYN Melee Combat Champion!

Tournament Structure

Competition Method : 1 on 1

Competition Format : Knock-out

Competition Types : Class-restricted AND Unlimited
In the Class-restricted competitions, all participants will use the same class, therefore fighting on "even ground" in terms of attacking power, health, and agility. In the Unlimited competition, participants are free to select any class, so long as they remain with the same class as they registered with until the end of the competition.

Match Format : Best of 3 (with Sudden Death)

Date : 5th April 2008

In the attached pdf file are the rules for the tournament.

Once we've gotten our participation confirmed, then we can settle on a time/date, and inform our hoster about it. Hope to hear from you guys if you have any feedback.

Eheheh, just one suggestion, how bout turning off the critical attack for the tournament? I think it would be fairer match.

as far as i know, the sad fact is there's no cvar for crits. if there was, i'm sure fullmetalneko, our resident crocket magnet would've told me about it i'll look around and see if there are any competition mods available that can do this, if the rest also feel the same way.

haha, I wonder if spy can last while in the ring... his melee if placed right can stab anyone 1hitKO

definitely too much assassin's creed for you fox-sama. btw, hoster confirmed, e-club came back to me first, so we'll give them a try this time around, and see how it goes. and if the tourney is good, perhaps we can make it into a quarterly thing

IMO tf2 is designed as a team based game. rather than 1v1, i think something like 4v4, 5v5, etc is better in alot of ways

strife hijacking madman's pc again:

we thought of the 1on1 while playing a makeshift boxing tourney on our own. so thats why we brought that out, as i'm sure there are definitely people who are interested in that as well. but if you guys also want to play it as a team, yes, we could do that. for now we only have the 1on1, but if you guys can confirm your participation, then we can come up with the rules for a team based melee competition.
