i dun really understand the need to ruggerized thumb drives. not even i do care why you want absolute data protection

thumb drive is volatile. keep your important files in your hard drive. make copies. who brings important and sensitive docs in thumb drives?

anyway, nice look. but a bit bulky. and round summore.

it meant for those (foreman, soldier, engineer, medical staff & etc) working under extreme condition/territory (forest, offshore, battlefield & etc), just like we have "tough" notebook and handphone

solid state devices aren't prone to magnetic interferences. if you live in the 90's where floppy disks are abundant, maybe yes

SSD is also not prone to vibration. so why the heck did they say anti-vibration? doh.gif

its usefully for us:

if we are trapped in burning car, at least the data would be safe

accidentally flushed down toilet and need few days to retrieve

Keep important files in HDD? Even HDDs can fail and I'd even say that the failure rate in HDDs might be higher than in thumb drives. So, I think that keeping important files in a thumb drive is a viable idea.

Who does that? I know of some execs who keep a backup copy of important & sensitive files in the thumb drive (in case laptop is stolen or HDD crash). Some even keep the ultra confidential stuff on thumb drive only - why? If you keep in laptop, the laptop might be stolen or compromised. Store data in thumb drive and carry it personally all the time (especially useful while travelling overseas and don't have to worry when you leave the laptop in the hotel room).

For these people a reliable thumb drive is a must (and ability to encrypt).
