Yup, it's true Mac OS X is one of the safest OS in the world due to the fact that it runs on Linux. I am not sure why Norton make antivirus for Mac but I used it and I don't need it.

As I am a Mac lover, I will still give honest answer.

QUOTE(Wikipedia)
The Macintosh operating system enjoys a near-absence of the types of malware and spyware that affect Microsoft Windows users. This is due to both Mac OS X's UNIX roots and smaller user base. Both of these factors drive malware creators to develop for Windows. However, worms as well as potential vulnerabilities were noted in February 2006, which led some industry analysts and anti-virus companies to issue warnings that Apple's Mac OS X is not immune to viruses, as is commonly misconceived. Regardless, there has not been an outbreak of Mac malware, and Apple routinely issues security updates for its software.

Take from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh#Software

So, Mac enjoy the near-absence of the types of malware and spyware.

Basically for me, I do not bother to have any anti-virus for my Mac afterall.

Hey it's not Linux! It's based on BSD platform.
but both MacOS and Linux shared the UNIX feel as both BSD and Linux are actually UNIX.

I think once we become a Mac-convert, the mentality has to changed. I remember myself so reluctantly enable Wifi or plug in the ethernet cable to the internet after a fresh install of Tiger as you know, a un-patched PC will get totally taken over by virus in 58 secs if you hook up that poor guy to the internet.

Talking about security, Apple just release security patches for more than 10 products last week, make sure you guys grab it.
