Im in a dilemma over 8800gt.
If I do a lot of gaming at 1680x1050 res, 256MB is not enough? I heard performance at that resolution can be up to 50% improve if using 512MB version.
Any thoughts?

They say that to go for 8800gt with 256mb ram is worth for gamer with monitor under 20".

The way I see it 8800gt is certainly more value than the 8800gtx.
