Shouldn't be a problem. You should worry bout the temperature instead. If you keep your fan running low and let the heat rose up then it'll damage your card and that is most definitely not a good thing. Better have the fan running at high speed and low the temperature of the card. Use fan profiles to control the fan speeds. Therefore you won't have it running at high speed all the time. Only during playing games. 

err . . . any reason why my gc on LOAD is 84 degrees celcius  or izzit just all 88's are the same?
Btw using xfx 88 alpha dog edition, but in gpu-z its clocked, core 700Mhz/ mem 1000Mhz/ shader 1750Mhz. But package put 600Mhz, no overclocking done.     Using driver 169.25

Its XFX 8800 gt alpha dog edition, on box stated 600MHz core . . . its not extreme nor xxx version.  Why so weird.

idiots here dont know that the xfx ADE stock voltage is a bit higher so .. it can take SSC bios..

changing the voltage via bios doesnt work with nvidia cards..
only ati cards..
thats the default voltage.
and overclocked speed has nothing to do with the vgpu..

what i'm afraid is typo coz i also got cheat by the online price list where they show colorful 8800gt  zalman copper heatsink rm560... on the spot well, more then that!

colorful 8800Gt zalman VF 1050 is the best choice for me... cool n nice performance!

bcoz 8800GT is a reduced of 128sp G92 die, which is 16sp lesser leaving only 112sp... therefore that slot is empty.... all 8800GT is the same empty for that slot... therefore that particular area dont need heatsink
have a look at ur card... that slot will be missing if u r using 8800GT
