hello guys...I have a brand new Asus 8800gt 512mb (glaciator fan) + E8400@ stock speed.... getting 3dmark06 score of 11590...is this ok or low ?

also notice the idle temp hovers around 53-55C in my room (no aircond)...but after 1 hour of gaming it stays around 60C only...

with aircond switch on...idle is around 46-47C...and load temp is 53-56C like that... normal ?

About right but i except to be 12k or so.My 8800GT is coming back soon so i can make a bench and see how is it at stock speed.Try 174.74 driver also, should have some increase from 169 driver and the best thing to do in 3dmark is increase cpu speed, see your score flying brows.gif

Should be DS3 supports 8800GT or not. Well ofcourse it does. It only depends if your PSU is able to power it up nicely or not.

I have the same situation as yours. Mine was RMA once at Sri Comp. The unit was apparently send to Taiwan and came back to me with the same unit. Sri Comp told me it is fixed. Went back and check, still crashed after running 3dmark for 5 mins. Therefore I tried to down clocked the memory clock down to 600mhz. Voila, no more crashing at 3dmark. Run it for 1 hour, no problems. Played all other games, seems to be okie for now.
So an advice to everyone who wants to get 8800GT, avoid Qimonda chipset or Gigabyte GCs.

yup that's very true, rite now gigabyte should revise their 8800gt design and fix this problem..

yup that't true, as long as the mobo has a pcie 16x slot it should support 8800gt

hmmm...anyone tried using the latest driver 174.74 on 8800gt ?

If you do a driver search thru nvidia...it recommends 169.21 for 8800gt while 174.74 is for the 9 series...

any performance feedback ?
