my x2 4000 already at its limit for my vcore. Wouldnt like increasing more due to temps. Would OC-ing the card more would generate more points and in what range? maybe 200-300 marks?

your card is on bottle neck. overclock the 8800gt only when you had the fans 100% all the time or get a new vga cooler. but then your 3dmark won't increase much due to the bottleneck.

Some nice review of the 8800GT here. Sorry if this is a repost.

First up, the Sparkle 8800GT CoolPipe3.

For who that is interested in having a passive cooler 8800GT, think again. This custom CoolPipe3 can cook an egg.

Nah, i doubt. Even Sniper69's 7300GT is running load temperature around the same last time. smile.gif Besides, i doubt Sparkle would be stupid enough to put a cooler into the 8800GT that is going to damage the card itself..

But who would want a silent pipe version.LOL..

haha selling eggs? good idea..

anyway i realize my gc is also running at a kinda dangerous temp.

During load its 80C ++

and there was once..., when i was playing FIFA08, the graphics suddenly gone mad with red colour on the green pitch...

wonder if its because of the temperature.

80C is not dangerous for gc.
it's able to run even at 100C.

Yes, its indeed hot but not until a dangerous level. Heck, the Sparkle as said in post above registered over 100c. So, i guess there is nothing to worry about. smile.gif
