actually if u havent really interviewed by HR, its kinda hard to know the status. so long as the department accepted u, hr shouldnt be of any problem. if up to u whether u wanna bug them or not, or who, bcoz anywhere u go.. u wouldnt know the ppl that you bug will like ur bug or not, some good some bad ppl out there, we just wouldnt noe.

and for 16% epf.. no more lor under cimb ppl get 12%, 16 for those old staff oni as of now. fd rate u got +1%, conventional acc also +1%, loan is 4% on reducing balance(after calc its roughly 2.1%) blush.gif

hi chester,

need your insight/help.. since you did mentioned about reducing balance loan here, is it a monthly reducing balance or annually reducing balance type?

does the bank allows pre-payment to your staff loan on top of your regular payment?
*
for housing loan im not really sure but for car loan, if u ask hr they will say 4%. they wouldnt bother telling u its reducing balance. till when i want to buy a car, someone told me it must be reducing balance. upon checking with hr, i asked them to calc for me for the amt that i wanted to borrow and amt that i need to pay, i calculated its roughly 2.1% interest rate (after u take in the reducing balance). i dont bother taking loan from the bank anyway coz the process takes up to a month. i just drop by PBB and get everything done in a day smile.gif but of coz i wasted my benefit as a banker

hi chester,

thanks for the pointer.. but wouldn't it be better to enquire from the branch/loan officer instead? i'm sure they can
explain better regarding staff loan better than hr? (pardon my pun, but some hr has retorted to just admin role)

a month waiting for processing is definitely worth the wait, considering the amount you can save/leverage here. at least you can put good capital to work harder..

i understand that you guys get additional 1% for deposits, how about foreign currency fd? are you guys given additional percentage or a waiver to the bid-ask spread (or the buy-sell difference)?
*
lwb,

only HR can process the loan. Was kinda dissappointed, too much trouble to take the loan. The HR claim all will be process by them, cant do at any branch..

nabelon,

All working experience are good, even though they might not be relevant to the banking industry.

Regarding your 3 values : "1. reducing cost 2.human relations 3.problem solving." Careful with what you claim that you can do. I would definitely drop the first value if i were you. Imagine if the interviewer ask you how are you going to reduce cost.... what are you going to answer? Cost reduction usually falls under the agenda of the higher level personnel. Juniors will not have the authority to implement any change even if you see an opportunity there.

As I see that you are only applying for a fresh graduate position, go for the typical "I am willing to learn and contribute" type of values to avoid uncomfortable situations.

well said, just go with the standard. reducing cost is a good thing tho

fletcherwind,

don't mind lwb, he's a good guesser rclxms.gif

lwb why don't u share where are you? rclxms.gif

well, its better to be anonymous online, we're here just to share our personal view or stuff, anything more than that shouldn't happen here, aint it. Anything more than that just call the DID smile.gif

Added on June 11, 2008, 9:41 pmanyway, just to add, the way u're trying to dig ppl out simple put others off from sharing more info here. believe me, there are a number of ppl here and i can confirmed they got turned off because once we (me, in this case) try to share a lil info here to benefit the forumer, you just wanna dig us out. no hard feeling, but you simply put me into doubt, in term of professionalism.

put it simple, we are here to share, not to dig

*hopes no offend taken smile.gif

Hi guys, i went CIMB HQ interview recently.

The interviewer told me tat CIMB consumer banking payout 12mths bonus last yr (thou i presume only key performers got it), can any cimb-ian confirm this?  this is crucial to my decision making coz i'm banking on this payout to offset my paycut at cimb...explained below..

The hr told me tat my current pay is beyond their range for AM...hence asked me for 13% paycut n hope for huge bonuses at year end....not sure to believe or not?

Lastly, does cimb values its performing employees?  Coz my plan is to work very hard & get promoted in 2 yrs time...is this far from realistic in cimb or workable?

I know maybank gives free parking to its staff inside Menara Maybank, does Cimb do the same?

Advise from cimb-ians is very much appreciated...thanks!

Promotion in 2 years is possible, been there done that. 12 months bonus, thats a fat lie.

i dun think so there will be any parking inside for staff...i saw many of them just park at the side of the road, around the shop lots.....
i wonder how is the working environment there..... sweat.gif
*
you will report to who? blush.gif

parking got lah..but need to queue..when got empty then can get season parking..rm100/month

if not, park opposite the building beside mosque.. rm4 or 5 per entry..

park roadside bayar loh i think 50cents or 60cents/hour..

other than that park at your own risk. sometimes saman only, sometimes they tow ..depend on luck..
