my experiment

1 linux box with 2 NICS ( fedora core 3..download socat rpm and go )
1 hub
1 win xp machine

Added on December 12, 2007, 8:53 pmIt works from my experience. Without socat, my lag will be hovering 1.3k to 1.8k

with socat just nice from 800-1k lag

My technique is quite different, I use pure linux box and and set it as my primary gate way.

My eth0 goes to my streamyx modem and my eth1 goes to trusted zone a.k.a my pc

anyone want the scripts and setup ?

My pc quite cokia..can't handle vmware. So I dump my old p3 ..with 2 nics.

Well if you can find any live cd with iptables + socat, it's consider done.

why you put 2 nic on it? imho a router routing the entire network would be much better and only cost prolly 200ish.
good in the long run too should you have any additional machines, or if your gonna have friends coming over, or LAN parties
