I think if you have an S-video input then you can plug your astro on it and then use a software to record it

If you don't have any inputs, then buy an external TV tuner/capture card.

Usually TV Cards (PCI) has a single input, where you feed a sort of adaptor to it (that will have S-Video/Standard AV) input.
What is the brand of your TV card on your PC? Sadly, that TV card could not be used on your laptop. If you insist to use your laptop to record, then you have to purchase an extenal TV Card, which is pretty expensive IIRC. |

yea but expensive haha.. if your budget below 500 u can get a good one.
If u save too much later the quality comes out crap. Then its totally waste of money |

can record, if you buy tv card, normally it's comes with software, the quality depend on your source, also you need big space of hdd, more high quality, more big the size of file.

Hello everyone!!! The D-SUB, DVI, HDMI, S-Video, RCA connectors on all VGA cards and in notebooks are OUTPUT ONLY. Its OUTPUT ONLY. The only way u can have input video so u can record stuff is by using video capture cards. Which comes in either USB, Fire Wire or internal PCI card.
If u decide to plug any of the mentioned VIDEO OUT signals from ASTRO or any VIDEO device and plug in straight to any VIDEO OUT from your PC or laptop..... all i can say is GOOD LUCK! |
