QUOTE(ohcipala @ Apr 23 2018, 11:54 PM) That is sad. Nevermind. I shall just topup with what I need to pay and keep the card at RM0 at all time. Tony Fernandes is not going to get my extra cash |

Confirm with Bigpay that once money goes in, cannot be transferred out. So just put in the minimal guys. No need to put extra.

QUOTE(bbhing98 @ May 15 2018, 09:40 PM) Hi guys. I have a few questions here. 1. If I am not mistaken USD. But let's wait for others to confirm. 1. If I topup rm10k in it and I use the card in US, I have the option to choose to pay in USD or MYR right? (In which payment in USD would be the best?) 2. It's stated that there's some cross border fee + currency conversion fee. But I heard from some people that right now there's no fee for overseas transaction for a period of time? Any idea when it will be until? 3. Is using bigpay for retail payment a lot beneficial compared to using normal debit card in US? 4. Is there any maximum withdrawal amount in USD, considering overseas cash withdrawal is costly, one would definitely withdraw a lump sum in every withdraw. 2. See FAQ Once their customer base is large enough then they start charging. 3. I think normal US debit card is better. Combine that with moneymatch/instarem (if you have US bank acciunt) 4.Not sure. |

QUOTE(bbhing98 @ May 18 2018, 04:37 PM) kaiserreichI will give you another different advise. Best to open a US bank account. Why? 1) you are unlikely to visit the US again. Why regret say 10 years down the road that you did not open account. Open 2 so you can keep the US account "active" 2) opening a US bank account open you up to cheap investment option in US as you are able to move money easily between brokerage 3) it's awlays good to have bank account overseas There are so many US banks offering free bank account. |

QUOTE(bbhing98 @ May 19 2018, 01:30 PM) Hi, thank you for your suggestion. Yes. To keep your account active. 1) why do you suggest to open 2 accounts? Is it so that I can make some transaction between the 2 accounts through online banking so as to keep it active? 2) which bank do you suggest me to open without any minimum balance or annual fee for maintaining the account? 3) what type of account should I open? Savings account only? Or current account too? Highly appreciate your reply Just Google. Zero fee bank account in the US. Savings in US is usually have limited amount of withdrawal a month (2-3x/month) Current usually have unlimited withdrawal. So is your choice. QUOTE(vez @ May 19 2018, 03:17 PM) Keep min amount inside. Topup if you need to use it. Reason: you can't transfer back to your bank account. So somehow you need to use it up. |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jun 13 2018, 12:37 PM) They are not stupid! I agree. Once they have big customer base, they will start charging fees. Tony's team purposely created the loopholes for all of us to jump in for their new Fintech project. Once they build up a good customer base for BigPay, together with AirAsia's, Tunetalk's, Tune Insurance's customer data, they will make a lot of money from using this data. But their overseas exchange rate damn good. Exactly like xe.com rates. |
