I gave up as well - and now have the unappreciated side effect of the attempted activation fee not being refunded. Raised it to Grab and the support staff is asking for a bank statement...  shakehead.gif

Wow. I actually didn't know how many times I tried, probably need to track back my SMS. doh.gif doh.gif
I saw some refunded but well, I don't know if all will be refunded. doh.gif

Probably didn't help that I was attempting to activate it while overseas (activation fee not in MYR). Those transactions are currently still Pending, we'll see whether they ever switch to Settled (but my balance has been deducted any how)

Mine were reversed quite fast, within 1 hour. All amounts have a strikethrough and marked reversed.

I must say I love shopping in Taobao with BigPay, this reason itself is sufficient for me to continue using this card.

The rate is so so good. Almost identical to XE.com, without credit card service charge for foreign currencies. thumbup.gif

I purposely waited till all my transactions are "Settled" to compare rate. rclxms.gif

My boss is going to the States for business trip for three months which I usually will buy stuff from Amazon and post to him to bring back to Malaysia, looks like this round I will use BigPay card to pay.

yes sis...!  totally agreed with you

Got big exchange rate for my shopping in Thailand and Singapore.
Even my ATM cash out in SGD also very attractive. of course the more we withdraw, the best rate we get (coz RM10 withdrawal fee)  cool2.gif

This is really a good to go card for overseas.

I may go to Russia in August and they prefer cash over cards, so most of the places don't accept cards except for hotels and restaurants. At first I thought I won't have chance to fully utilize this card but at least I can withdraw from ATM. thumbup.gif

If anyone could inform any transaction so far not receiving any bigpoints, and oversea transaction if receiving 1 big points very RM2 spent. I will update in post #01 for easy reference. Thanks
*
Unfortunately Taobao is considered as online transactions and not overseas, so only RM 20 = 1 point for me. tongue.gif

I applied on 1st May (public holiday), verification was done on next day when business resumed. Pretty fast. blink.gif
Maybe these days high volume of application and it is slower. Can try contacting their team via FB for assistance, they are quick in replying.

According to BigPay:

Grab has blocked all prepaid cards from their app... If you want Grab to accept BigPay cards, please let them know via the form that's accessible at the bottom of this page:

https://help.grab.com/hc/ms/articles/115014...to-add-my-card-
Anyone please update if successfully added BigPay card to GrabPay after submission of the form. Thanks
*
What a hassle. I will skip for now... sad.gif

QUOTE(celaw @ Jun 1 2018, 03:16 PM)
Unless they practise pre-authorized amount. I think their concern is your prepaid card had not enough balance to pay when you arrived your destination. This will create a lot of operational headache.
*
But they accept debit cards...

QUOTE(codeiki @ Jun 3 2018, 07:38 PM)
How about the boost app? I can't find much discussion in it. Despite Boost app (1 million users) vs bigpay (10000 users).
Although boost app can holds lesser maximum money (RM1500) compare to bigpay (RM10000). And it has no rebate with public visa signature for online transaction, but what about other cards like maybank FCB?

It offer transfer charges of 2% or maximum RM2. (RM2/1500=0.13%) directly into bank account instead of withdraw from ATM.
https://support.myboost.com.my/hc/en-us/art...y-bank-account-

Probably it not suitable for frequent withdrawal or its rebate is lesser than bigpay.. So, I would like to ask your opinions about this.

Thanks for your time. (Please forgive me as I can't find much discussion about this app, but I see some similarity to bigpay, thus I post it here.)
*
Can get cash back with FCB VS for Boost.

We use BigPay, at least for me is due to super good overseas exchange rate and it comes with a physical prepaid card which can be used to swipe for other transactions. Boost can't do this.

Where can you see the exchange rate for this card?
*
Yeah, check from the app but once you swipe, it will be "Pending" but wait for few days till it's posted and change to "Settled" then you can compare the rate.

I think opens to foreigners as well because they allow passport images during registration? I cannot recall how the form looks anymore but since it accepts passport images, I supposed yes.

Why will require to verify address? So long they have a valid mailing address in Malaysia.

Not like our address is verified too.

Any usage we can do with WeChat Wallet in Malaysia? unsure.gif
I used it a lot whenever I'm in China previously can pay with Malaysia CC linked wallet, then after that cannot. My friends had to transfer to my red packet to use. If I can use back in China, that will be cool. I might go to China in July/August.

Malaysia wallet at the moment only can buy mobile top-up and bus ticket, and only can link debit card.

Not needed but if you want to use in China, your identity needs to be verified and it's for China residents only.

This one is for WeChat Malaysia wallet. I will explore later at night, I already have existing China wallet.
